WIW 03.28-31

Hello ladies! Been popping in and reading, but we had family visiting (very rare!) so I've been pretty busy the past couple weeks. And this is a short work week because hubby and I are headed out to eastern Washington for the Desert 100 tomorrow (he's riding). So it's been hectic but good!

I've been trying to keep with the style thoughts that came up in my spring tweed post, mainly to try and incorporate something classic, something pretty/glam, something retro, and something punk/boho. It warmed up this week, though, so the boho side definitely took over. Also swapped my mascara from my usual super black to a new ink shade and am looooving it (even though no one but me can tell).

#2 Monday 03.28. A cooler day so I wanted to play with lightweight layering and tonality. I don't think the boots are quite so bright in person but the warm cognac definitely clashes with the cooler taupe tights (which I find delicious).
  Newer: sleeveless sweater, boots, sunnies
Older: cardi, shorts, tights, jewelry, clutch

#3 Tuesday 03.29. Got all dressed and snapped photos with the gray pumps then realized that both heel caps had come off! Swapped to gold slipper flats but didn't have time to retake photos -- so I snapped a quick Nordies bathroom shot ^^ Light pink lippie and silver holo clutch (which matched more with the gray shoes, and stands out more with the gold).
  Newer: blouse
Older: faux leather capris, shoes, jewelry, clutch, sunnies

#4 Wednesday 03.30. Warm enough to go without a cami, woohoo! On the lookout for another summer weight very cropped top but will enjoy this sweater while spring is here. Paired with a beloved skirt for a breezy but warm day. For a little extra color contrast I chose a baby blue box clutch, fished up decade-old self-made turquoise earrings, and finished with some bubblegum pink lipstick.
  Newer: sweater, clutch
  Older: skirt, flats, jewelry, sunnies

#5 Thursday 03.31. "New" navy tuxedo culottes purchased early last spring then set aside in too-safe a place so this is their first outing ;) A little long but fine with taller heels. Grabbed a cropped denim jacket just in case and finished with bright red lipstick. Not sure where the idea for this outfit came from but it hits alllll the right notes and I'm very happy in it today!
  Newer: nothing!
  Older: everything!

#6. Detail photos.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend! As always comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome.

The usual love from me here - and outfit 5 is a real standout.  It seems to be a good balance of professional/polished/creativeAida .  The length of the culottes is perfect too.  5 stars in my book.

You look beautiful in each outfit, but my favorite is Tuesday ( #3). The navy culottes are a close second.

Gorgeous outfits! You definitely are hitting all your style boxes. My favorite is #5, those culottes are a standout.

    Hi, I'm new!

I love Tuesday and Thursday the best. I actually am very enthusiastic about the gold ballets with the Tuesday outfit. And I have an irrational love also for all things holo, but will never indulge, so it delights me to see the clutch!

That sweater with the culottes on Thursday is a masterful pairing. The sweater looks as though it was made for you.

    Also, your hair! So lovely!

It's so great to see another Aida post first thing in the morning :D Loving your Spring style.....you're looking fantastic in all these outfits, but #4 with the skirt is my personal favourite. Just so feminine and pretty!

Outfit in #5 is really amazing too. The navy culottes look stellar - perfect proportions with the top here. You make me want to buy culottes!

You have the best style. Laidback yet always finished :)

Gosh, all gorgeous looks, Aida. I absolutely *love* Monday's shorts outfit and agree with you on the fabness of the boots with that shade of tights. Tuesday's crops--aaah, they look amazing on you. As always, your proportions are perfect. I'm always so in awe of your different looks.

Our shoes! I have both the Olyvia's (and the picture of us both wearing them) and the DV flats (I think I copied you). The latter are real workhouses.
So my favorites here are #2 (what you call capris I call shorts and wear all summer). I like the outfit just as much with the gold flats that bookend the necklace and would be much more wearable during the day that way. In case I wanted to copy I mean ;) .
And #5. Wow proportion skill! I love the vest and the large gold hoops make it!
The other two are my second favorites! Good luck to DH with the race!

Lovely as usual. I really dig #5, it's a great outfit and the proportions look great on you.

Gorgeous outfits. So much variety! My favourite is Monday - the shorts outfit. I love this way of wearing shorts: with tights and boots in cool weather because it is so different from the usual way. Really like the neutral tones and the layers of necklace, and also the way the clutch tones in but lifts everything because of the pattern. The others are great too. I actually prefer Tuesday's outfit with the gold shoes. Like the way it ties in with the necklace.

As usual, I love all the outfits...but 5 is out of this world! You look like a professional model in the pic with your sunglasses and jacket.

    Yay, an Aida post!

Firstly, in #1, you are the queen of shorts and tight outfits. I see what you mean about the tights and boots popping of each other...nice! I love the longer cardigan with this look too.

#2. Both pairs of shoes work well with the cropped pants and the proportions are stellar! Will you be able to get new heel caps? I hope so.

#3 Beautiful soft palette and loving the hi-low hem skirt.

#4 My favourite I think, because I get so drawn to culottes outfits when I browse any fashion blogs. You new-ish (:)) navy culottes fit beautifully and I like the addition of the denim jacket as a topper. Nice subtle pattern mixing of tank and clutch too.

    Looking good!

Lovely, as always, Aida.  No favourites for me - everything is looking good.

Wow, Aida, this looks so yummy, all-YLF and springy, and so well put together-as always. Will study your outfits in the weekend, from closer...
    Thnax for posting!:-)

Gorgeous as always Aida! Love all the earrings. That blue is so pretty on you. As usual, you pull off an array of looks with equal gorgeousness!

#2 and #3 are Killer. Great length on those crops, and fun to see you in a frock!

  • rabbit replied 8 years ago

All the looks are great but I love 4 and 5 especially, tonal lights with pattern, and tonal darks with pattern, both done so well.

Also your  top of head bun in #5 is super cute :)

  • Bonnie replied 8 years ago

Love all of these outfits. I'm learning so much about proportion from you. I looked for the Loft blue top but they have sold out. That style would work for me, too, I think.

  • Jenava replied 8 years ago

I have a similar outfit planned as your dress outfit here, but I'm not quite sure I have the right top for it.  I'll have to give it a try and post for feedback.  You look fab in all of these!  I love how well defined your style is.

  • replied 8 years ago

...I thought I'd replied to this...
Anyway, I really like the 4 neutrals in outfit 2. That's my kind of outfit :)
Also really love you leather capris--they're dressy And casual at the same time!

  • Sally replied 8 years ago

I love all the outfits. My favorites are the Capri and culottes outfits...very classy

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

You are killing me! How you manage these proportions so effortlessly with the culottes and crop tops and everything else just amazes me!
