WIW 07.24 [fuzzy sequined fun for a gloomy day]

After wearing a white-out look for a seriously rainy day, for the second straight day of gloom and rain I decided to go with the fun: color, fuzz, sequins, and pompadour-ponytail! (Happy to report that summer has since returned.) I spent the day out shopping with and for my sis, and purposefully chose to wear something complicated to take off so I would be less inclined to try stuff on -- between the booties, BF jeans, crew neck and updo it was definitely difficult, but of course I still managed to find some things for myself ;)

This cropped-over-long silhouette is something I've been eying a good while (Rae does it particularly inspiringly: 1|2|3|4) so I decided to make the most of the cool day to try it out now that I have two cropped sweaters that it'll work with (I have a second that I got at NAS). This bright and fuzzy sweater came home with me a little while back, intended for fall/winter/spring + cool summer days. But after wearing it for the first time I think I'll have to reduce that to fall/winter and only the coolest days in early spring as it's ridiculously warm! It elicited several comments which was amusing (every SA in BP at Nordies, so hmmm.. too young?). The very high crew neck isn't the most flattering on me but the fun factor totally earns it a place in my wardrobe, and I look forward its cheerfulness when it's extra grizzly this winter. Plus it's super cuddly, and that's always nice ^^

You look adorable.  Those SAs probably couldn't wait to copy your outfit and sass.

I have been thinking about trying a cropped sweater over shirt silhouette because I like it on others - can't get my head around it on myself yet though. Need to find the right piece.  I like this on you!  My 18 yr old was looking over my shoulder at your pictures here, and asked me who it was.  Replied that is was a private photo - someone on a blog I follow. She said - ''No, like WHO is that? She looks like someone....."  Highest complement ever in their world :)

And again with your summer booties - I have to get myself some!!

You look sassy and like you are having  ton of fun. Love that blue on you, too.

Great outfit, Aida! I love the colors, the layers, your hair, the works. I've marked as a favorite, so I can come back for tips on how to wear a cropped moto jacket I just got a few weeks ago. (It was end of spring sale, but I bought it with fall in mind.)

Great job with the cropped sweater and tank. The proportions look really good! I wish the sequins came through better on the pic. It would be fun to see it in action, with the light reflecting off the sequins as you move around.

Your shoes work great with this outfit too!

Love, love, love! Would I be stretching it too much to say the top makes me think of blueberries? Great booties too!

Hehe! #2 has me chuckling, love your expression :) What a fun, practical and on trend look. I have a sweater that I intend to work a little magic on and make it cropped, I'm especially inspired to do it now.

Well you know I love this! Awesomeness! I adore the color, too - bummer that it will be too warm for the other seasons you wanted. I don't think it's a young look at all. Maybe something for those BP SAs to aspire to. :)

That color looks so good on you! I like the cropped over long look.

Thanks for the lovely comments ladies!

Lisa, please thank your daughter for the compliment for me, that's so very sweet :D

Gigi, yes that's always an issue when photographing sequins. These are a flat white so they catch light but don't sparkle like proper metallic sequins do. They definitely still add a bit of shine though!

Jaime, I'll take blueberries over "Cookie Monster" which was the prevailing reminder ;)

Diane, how fun! Are you planning to do a straight hem or a curved hem? I'm partial to the curved shapes when the top is very cropped, even if it's just a slight curve.

Rae, yay I'm glad you caught this! This is a silhouette I wouldn't have tried if not for all of your cool versions ^^

Ooh I like this a lot. Cool!

Love this cropped top layered look and this color on you and I can see why you drew the attention of the Nordie BP SA's.  Your fantastic expressive poses are the best here on YLF, Aida!  It would be impossible to have a gloomy day around you.  :)

    Thank you Anna and Vicki!

Anna, I'd thought about wearing this for our dinner a couple weeks back but of course it was too warm (not a bad problem to have of course). It's been waiting since then!

Vicki, aw that's very sweet *hugs*
