WIW 07.07 Mirjana copycat!

Totally loved Mirjana's recent light blue/soft gray/black outfit and wanted to copy right away. I knew I had the gray cardigan, black ballet flats and light blue jeans so figured it would be easy... Then realized I don't have any non-printed black tops, nor navy or even any other solid dark color which would work with the cardigan (this is what happens with preference for light/colorful, I guess!). This black and gold crane tee was as close as I could get, which then lead to the loafers over ballet flats because I liked the vibe.

Don't think this outfit has the lovely elegance of Mirjana's but hey it turned out fun, at least :) Certainly more casual which worked nicely for a weekend day of errand running. Thanks for the inspiration Mirjana!

Mirjana's outfit is fab, and so is yours. A neutral-Aida-day :)

Thanks Angie! That's pretty much how I felt about running those errands ;)

Your closet is a treasure trove! And wow, so interesting that you don't have a black solid (or navy) top! You seem to do very well without it, though, and somehow manage to put fantastic outfits together day after day! :) Miraculous.

Wow, wonderful outfit Aida. I like printed top with that outfit . You look amazing as usual, you are so sweet that you can wear everything with style, your own. I am honored that I inspired so stylish Lady for the outfit.

This looks great! I love that you can put together a look you like from what you already have in your closet.

This is one of those outfits where all of the elements are familiar yet the combination feels totally fresh and unexpected. I think it’s the repetition of the black elements throughout that help make it cohesive. I think you could also do a blush compliment: shoes bag and sunglasses and have it work too. It would still be coherent as long as the color saturation matched that of the sweater and jeans.

    Thanks ladies!

Suz, I know right!? I do have a couple solid bits in F/W weights and while there is one lone S/S solid navy blouse it's sooooo voluminous already that it's pretty impossible to layer over. Everything else is patterned! And I definitely don't feel like those are holes, either. Still possible to get dressed every day ^^

Mirjana, yay I'm glad you caught this. Loved your look :D

    Becky, thank you!

3style, hah actually what you described with the lighter/blush compliment is how I would wear this outfit if I were just putting it together myself. Using black shoes/bag is definitely not my default go-to!

I really, really like this! I have a soft spot for lightweight, long cardigans, and the fluid fit of that tee is wonderful.

You and she both look great in this ensemble, each in your own way. I’m trying to figure that out. It’s very cool.

What I like about your outfits is that you use warm toned jewelry with cool toned clothing and hair. I think it provides a lot of visual interest :)

LOVE it! So interesting. The printed top with the black loafers really make the outfit.

Your outfit is great and I think it is fabulous that you were inspired by mirjana and able to copy the outfit from what you have in your closet! The crane t shirt is so fun!

Fabulous. Just like Mirjana. And I am coming to get that top.

    Thanks very much, ladies :D

FashIntern, it's always fun how that works! Having similar, but not the same, kinds of pieces coming from my wardrobe probably goes a good long way there.

Jussie, I looove warming up my cool neutrals! Don't really do the opposite, though. Having mostly warm coloring helps (it's a little neutral but I like warm more so I roll with that).

Brooklyn, sounds good! Leave behind that lovely cream tweedy moto, please ^^
