WIW 06.14-17 [cropped]

Pants, dress, hair, it's all cropped ^^ Opted for cropped lengths for cooler weather this week. Also got my hair shape changed a bit -- shorter all around and a little more square. For now having fun with the 80s-ness but it should soften back to its usual 70s vibe pretty quickly.

#2,3 Tuesday 06.14. Pulled out an old favorite top which looks best with high-waisted pants; this pair still needs hemming but meantime I'll just wear with my highest heels. Accessorized with silver+gold and finished with a swipe of berry gloss. #3 taken just after hair cut.

#4 Wednesday 06.15. I gambled on these trousers final sale, expecting them to be truer red; if I was smart I'd have realized they're the same tomato pair Tanya has! So they're a near-duplicate for my orange cropped flares, though very different fabrication (perhaps these could be dyed raspberry?). Paired with a modern 80s top half to roll with the hair -- light pink+light blue, holographic clutch, plus the vest itself has a good 80s vibe. Accented with orange elements: orange/gold earrings, cognac shoes, orange tortie sunnies, and lightly frosted orange gloss.

#5 Thursday 06.16. Initially planned to re-wear this outfit from last fall but after getting dressed it warmed quite a bit so decided to skip the cardigan and just go with the boxy short dress. Didn't have a good short slip so took a long silk scarf and wrapped it around then pinned in place (bossed!). Was a little self-conscious but made it through the day ;) Played up the boho feel with fringey clutch and floral nude hosiery, then finished with double-ball earrings, new metal-rimmed sunnies, and a mauvey-orange matte balm.

#6 Friday 06.17. Feeling a little floppy today, hectic work week catching up to me! Super oversized openweave sweater over a column of dark (black cami and silvery waxed cuffed denim, shows through more in person) and kept it bright with white sandals. Of course, needed glam accessories -- giant silver hoops, leo clutch, big sunnies, and bubblegum pink lipstick -- though I had intended to also wear a very long, fine chain and completely forgot to actually, you know, put it on.

#7. Detail photos.

As always comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome!

Aida - as always, you are inspirational to me.  You look amazing.

I totally love #4! And I'm really digging your new cut. I think it adds a "softness" to your luscious locks! :)

    Love the new cut!
You look fab as always. My faves are the first and last outfit. I think shorter tops are the way to go for cropped jeans. I have been experimenting with mine and lamenting the fact that that I will need a whole new crop of cropped tops (ha ha!) to go with them when the weather warms up. And I love the texture and monochromatic colour palette in the last outfit.
I must say I really enjoy your collection of clutches too. If we lived closer together we could do swaps :)

Your hair looks fantastic. You really have found your/a sweet spot imo. #2 & #6 are my top picks :)

Another gorgeous set of outfits from Aida.  I especially like #4, and your hair is so pretty.

How fun that you got the same Loft tomato pants I have!  Perhaps after seeing me post >50 outfits with them they were calling to you :p  I can spot a lot of same or similar pieces I own here, for example I have the same tan flats and white version of the blush Zara sweater. It is fun to be a part of YLF sisterhood.

How pretty your hair is and what an impeccable sense of style you have! The cropped pants with asymmetrical top and denim vest gets my top vote. Being the lemming that I am, I might just have to cruise on over to Gap and check out that vest for myself :)

Another great set of outfits Aida.  Love your hair!

LOVE the new hair, and there is no end to your ongoing Killer Fabness. #4 is my best - you knew that!

  • Peri replied 8 years ago

Perfect of course! And I keep meaning to say this, but one of the things I like best is your photo blocks. I don't know how to do this and I really like the way you present in groups.

Thanks ladies! Appreciate the hair comments; even though the change is small it feels quite different!

Brooklyn, YES they really do need croppier tops! I'm also lacking those so it's been a little tough. That's the main reason I've been experimenting with tunic tops over them, since "regular" length feels a little off. I like the longer or shorter best; tucking can also work for shorter but is a bit fussier than an actual cropped top. Once the weather cools I'll need taller shafted ankle boots, too, and am dreading that hunt! I busted last winter, hopefully there are more options this season. I'd love to be able to swap clutches with you if you lived closer :D

Tanya, hehe I guess they were in my head! We do share a lot of same and similar pieces. I love seeing how we all wear ours. And like I've said I'd be happy to copycat, like, every pair of shoes you have ^^

Angie, I had a hunch! I felt a little 80s pop star in that outfit, which was totally fun. Just needed sparklier shoes!

Peri, thank you! It's helpful for me to see all the angles so I figure it is for others, too ;) I do all of my photo work in Photoshop, though there are definitely easier/less expensive ways of doing it (benefits of working for a graphic firm). I know a few forum members use Power Point, and if you're on a Mac I'm sure there are forum members who could give you some tips there. On the PC you could probably do it in Paint!

All those round hoops and round sunnies work so well with the curves in your hair.
Palette of #4 is gorgeous, I also have a soft spot for the b&w combo and the fuzzy pullover of #6.

Great outfits but I really like #2. The colors of the top look amazing on you.

Oh, speeding along in high gear!

Item 2 is a wonder color with your hair and skin. You look happy and vibrant.

More great looks! Love the hair, your curls are amazing!

Love, love, love your hair. No surprise there. The first outfit and the last are my favorites, but I the middle two are excellent also.

Love the hair! These are another set of fabulous outfits too Aida. Loving the cropped jeans and pants and I'm joining the chorus of love for #4...all four outfits are stellar though.
