WIW cool early spring faves

Aaaand a few cooler early spring favorites (that's all for now, don't worry!). Not expecting much more of this weather ahead until fall, woohoo!

No spring purchases here but a couple from FW17: orange sweatshirt sweater, coral sharkbite sweater, oatmeal shawl cardi, black skinny jeans, plum plaid coat, and burgundy clutch.

Since these were faves I was happy with the whole lot :D I was super pleased at my discipline for repeating high happiness outfits, like these, this past season instead of wearing new combos "just because." Plus it's a lot easier esp. on those days when my brain just isn't going!

Wow - you do it all! Warm with cold (colors), solids, prints, different silhouettes, brights, muted and so on. I like them all and regret not pulling out my tall boots more when I had the chance!

So gorgeous, I particularly love your magenta clutch with the soft greys. The boots, tights and shorts looks brilliant on you, I wish I could wear those.

I really like number 13- magenta sweater with a chunky turquoise ring. I have an absolute candy eye for magenta with turquoise jewelry :). My other favorites are pics 2,3 and 7. Thanks for sharing your fabulous outfits! A lot of interesting details and colours.

What an amazing array of outfits! My favorites are 2/3 with the lavender jacket and the last outfit with that fab coral sweater. Wonderful accessories too.

I'm kind of torn between loving you in color and loving you in tough edgy black and grey.  Overall my favorite is #2, so I guess the tough and edgy wins out.  You wear that look so well.

I love the bright colours on you and that shorts outfit is fab.

  • rachylou replied 5 years ago

Living it up! :) I a) really like that dark floral top/dress and b) need some shorts so I can do shorts with stockings. Too cool girl!

Fabulous, warm and cozy style! Happiness outfits reign! I really like how you wear tights with your boots and plan to copy that next fall. You look especially lovely in those red and coral colors......and those leopard booties!

More KILLER looks from gorgeous Aida. Can't pick a fave, although #8 comes close.

So many fantastic outfits Aida - I esp. love #2 (that jacket swoon) and #10, very different looks but both so perfectly "you." You have such an amazing sense of style and such a wonderful wardrobe -- and shoes!  I also love how your hair is a big part of your signature style.

So much to love here. Great outfits, but also great individual items. Such as the dress in 4, the sweater in 7, the booties in 8, sweater in 13.

Thank you very much ladies :D Appreciate all the accessory love; I don't wear many but they are always heavily considered.

Shevia, variety is the spice of life for an eclectic mood dresser, eh?

Denise, hah! Two winters ago I cautiously ventured back to more of the black/gray and this past winter I feel like I got a handle on a good mix for myself. It's been fun, and nice to know the black still works for me even though I've been quite soft in style for a long time now. Can't get rid of my punk side ^^

Rachy, YES you would rock the winter shorts. Do it! Mainelady and Bijou, I always encourage winter shorts so I say you two should try, too.

Angie, thanks! I'm slowly getting more tunic-dresses to wear over pants. This one was a proper dress... until I washed it the first time ;)

Tex, I could definitely see you in the shimmery taupe moto! It was an odd boutique find during a YLF meetup years ago or else I'd give you a link. And thanks re the hair, it's my most considered accessory. I'm always looking to highlight it!

Truly like all of your outfits. My only suggestion would be, if you do wear makeup, you might want to do a somewhat matching somewhat bold (it doesn’t need to be OTT) lipstick when you wear the bright warm red, oranges, pinks and magenta. I think that would put the focus back on your face. And believe me I know lipstick is a nuisance, I just think that it would add a little extra spark of color that might be nice.

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

Thanks, 3style! I don't really wear any makeup; unfortunately can't really wear mascara/eyeliner any more (boo), so my bolder lippies haven't been getting much use these days. I do wear tinted lip balms, though they don't show much in the photos. The brighter colored outfits generally get a brighter cherry gloss compared to my usual peachy orange and coral nudes. I have been slacking a bit on this though, so thanks for the reminder to put some of the brighter shades back into rotation ^^

Wow! Each of these outfits are so thoughtfully put together and look stunning on you. I love to learn from your great use of color, proportion, pattern mixing, texture use, mixes of shapes, etc. I can’t pick a favorite outfit. I really love the plaid coat on you though. I previously thought red was your best color but I think it looks even better on you when it’s mixed with some other colors like the purple/magenta in the plaid.

Nothing new to add from me, other than to say you look outstanding as usual!

  • Becky replied 5 years ago

    Love the olive/black combo.

Wow! Your WIWs are such treat. You look stunning. Love the array of colours that you wear. I really like the lavender jacket on you. So great with your hair. My favourite is the version with the speckled dress. Love the olive moto too with olive tunic. And the shorts. And the orange jacket with animal print shoes. And the plaid. All of it!

Aida, Maybe my eye doctor’s trick will help you to wear eyeliner if you desire to do so. I have to do a triple cleanse afterwards, if I wear it: (1) commercial eye makeup remover followed by (2) sterile wrapped Cleansing Eyelid Wipes from the drugstore and (3) all that remains rinsed clear with water-soaked cotton round. I am wearing eye makeup only for special occasions as a result. But at least I know that this method works for me.

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

Thanks ladies :D I was surprised that the silvery taupe jacket in 2/3 comes across as lavender and even more surprised that people like that shade on me! It's one of the few colors I feel doesn't work on me. Might have to reconsider if I can find a warm enough shade.

Staysfit, I enjoyed reading your thoughts on red! Over the years I've been slowly migrating away from red and more towards orange because it's a happier color for me. I do love mixing ^^

3style, thanks for the removal tips! My main issue is while wearing -- allergies cause all eye make up eventually to migrate into my eyes which causes a lot of irritation. I remove with Ponds and warm water, which works pretty well for me. But these days I'm down to eye make up for special occasion wear, too.
