WIW 09.01,02 [ensemble: transitional black, white & grey]

Playing around with rather maximal takes on Angie's Transitional Black, White & Gray ensemble. Thursday was entirely pleasant weather, today is another matter -- I don't think "blustery" cuts it! Not terribly cold though, just heavy wind/rain/thunder/etc. Fall is definitely here in the PNW.

#2 Thursday 09.01. Heavy texture mix with a hectically large pompom scarf (much more hectic in person) tied in a loop with blunt ends for a little geometric contrast. In the spirit of "more is more" added a cuff, several rings, and printed ponyhair flats plus snakeskin shimmery clutch. Finished with my biggest round sunnies to echo the pompoms and rusty orange lip gloss.

#3 Friday 09.02. Texture/print mix with variable scaled high contrasts (plus nude fishnets which don't show in the photos). I don't normally like wearing black footwear with bare looking legs but these stompy boho boots worked well and also added to the maximal effect so why not. Finished with rusty orange lip gloss and of course trench and hat necessary for rain! I think the indoors version is fine with the heavy boots however it feels a little off with the outdoor version (my cream booties would definitely feel better there, sadly they're on their last legs so I'm saving for winter when breaks from black are a must) which I tried to offset a bit with the black bag.

#4. Detail photos.

As always comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome!

You look great Aida, love how you embrace maximal.  And that hat looks amazing on you.

We are shorts sisters!  Thanks for the reminder to get them out to wear... I find the season for them quite short, as they are too warm in the heat yet too much leg exposed for cooler weather.  I do love them though, and feel like a million bucks in them.

Nice outfits! My fave is also number 3. Also, nice rings and what an interesting way to wear the one on the right ring finger, I never thought of that before but it looks fab.

    I love, love both.
The pompoms are super cute with your curls.
You look stunning in the retro 60s look.
It's true the boots jar with the retro look, I can't decide if it's a good thing (would look too vintage with a dainty shoe?) or a bad thing (would look even more flattering with a dainty shoe?).

OMG, I love all of these outfits on you. The accessories are great (who doesn't love a pom pom scarf, studded boots, iridescent bag etc?). Personally I like a bit of maximal style x

    As always, you nail it.

Totally stunning, both of these.  You are right , your versions are much more maximal than mine, but I think that the calm neutrals make it just right and not hectic and over the top at all.

You in the white trench and hat are perfection! I love the leather crops/shorts on you too. You just get better and better!

Fabulous! You are adorable in the hat and trench and I love your leather crops!

Wow -- I never noticed what beautiful hands you have.  Seriously you could model those hands.

Love #3 with its pattern mix expertise.

Fun outfits, as always! I like the pleather short pants outfit. Those are just such cool pants, and you have created another winning outfit with them. I like the big pompom scarf, with the pullover kind of fading into the background.
The second outfit is dynamite on you, too. I really like the retro look of the short-sleeved sweater and skirt, but with the twist of pattern and texture mix thrown in. The boho boots are fun with it, too, though I would like to see it with sleeker boots, too. I would like to have a hat like yours (especially if I could wear it as well as you do).(Hats+me=not always a good match.)
