WIW 10.01-10.05 (finally got the photos)

I finally got my hard drive recovered and so here are the outfits I wrote about last week! Do they look like you'd pictured? :)

  1. Monday: worn to work. Had to take advantage of the last day I could wear shorts, so decided to go with pumps instead of my usual boots for fall. Road testing the daytime clutch thing with one of my small totes. I really enjoyed it!
  2. Tuesday: worn to work. New scarf with burgundy, leopard, and plaid (!!). Wanted to try another fall outfit with my slouchy white skinnies; I think I am just going to continue wearing them all season because I can picture soooo many good winter looks with them!
  3. Wednesday: worn to work. I was touched by Angie's sentiment in waiting to wear her blush moto until October in honor of BCAM and decided that I would debut mine as well. I will also try to wear this a couple times a week this month (which is a lot of repetition for me). Paired with navy and black, and a great silk scarf with a fireworks-like print I got at the YLF swap back in the spring.
  4. Thursday: worn to the salon, work, then out for dinner with friends. I enjoyed pairing cranberry with orange and cognac early last spring and made a note to wear it again this fall. I know the proportions here won't be everyone's cuppa tea but I like them, weird as they are.
  5. Friday: worn to work then date night with hubby. A fall variation of an outfit I wore in warmer weather (don't think I posted it, picture all the black bits swapped with white for that other one). Serious Arm Party and pattern mix and color mix action going on :)
  6. Bonus: amusing visual evidence of leg lengthening/shortening in action. Same heel heights in both, and both pants sit at about the same place on my hips. Good stuff!

Comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome!

All the versions in #3 are my favourites - you look so long & lean. #6 is amazing....I think you look good in the rolled jeans but the others make your legs look a mile long.

  • Diana replied 7 years ago

I love #3 and #4! Those colors are amazing on you, and the blush moto is fantastic and fits perfectly! (Seriously, how did you manage to find a jacket that hits EXACTLY at the top of your belt?)

  • Zapotee replied 7 years ago

These are amazing Aida. I do have a tweed moto blazer that hits me right where the blush jacket hits you at the waist and I have not been able to figure it with pants. I now have a solution with #3. So fab!

  • Vicki replied 7 years ago

I can't pick one that's a favorite, because, Aida, you are so stylishly spectacular, that I love them all. In 1, the cobalt blue pumps do it for me; 2 is fab with that amazing scarf and those light-colored boots (what is the color? Buff? Cream?) make me want a light pair, too; 3 probably my favorite, if I had to pick, because I had the pleasure of seeing and touching that blush moto in person and that fireworks-print scarf is out of this world!; 4 love this color and proportions combo and will copy; 5 stunning look at the party going on here. Great WIW week, Aida!

    Love #2, #3 and #5.

  • qfbrenda replied 7 years ago

    I love 2-4!! Well done!

  • merwoman replied 7 years ago

Love all your looks Aida - but #3 sends me over the moon!

  • Karie replied 7 years ago

I like #2 and #3 the best - the jacket fits perfectly!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 7 years ago

I couldn't pick a favourite out of this group if I tried - they are all fantastic! That blush moto is just amazing on you Aida.

What I notice most about your style is YOU LOOK LIKE YOU OWN IT!!! Love that.

  • sarah replied 7 years ago

Aida, you've got all sorts of new scarves going on, don't you? What fun. These are all amazing - but I especially love 2 and 3. 2 is so unexpected with the boots over those white jeans, and 3 is just divine. That jacket is incredible on you!

  • Jonesy replied 7 years ago

I agree with several others: I can't pick a fave either! You are rocking the denim, pattern mixing, earth tones, leather.....everything! Yes, your legs look longer with the denim unrolled, but you look so *cute* when you wear them cuffed :).

Congrats on getting your hard drive repaired!

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

Yay! You have a hard drive!!

I have a fave :). #2 is KILLER to the power of KILLER. So fresh for Autumn :)....I wore my white jeans a lot at the start of Oct too.

All your outfits are spectacular Aida. You rock my style world.

  • Angie replied 7 years ago

Oh yes! Thanks for wearing pink for BCAM. I have been wearing my pink moto at least 3 times a week. *waving at my twin*. Glad that you sized up on your moto. It looks SO much better a little larger all over.

  • shevia replied 7 years ago

Interestingly (to me at least) the two outfits in #6 are my two favorites of another fabulous set. I love the navy on you and also the fitted jacket with the bfs. Am going back for a more careful examination...

  • christy replied 7 years ago

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE 2 & 3!!!!! *waving to my boot twin*

All of these are great, but 2 & 3 are so fab, I can hardly stand it! Funny, I've already picked out my outfit for tomorrow and it's white skinnies tucked into boots. (my grey Borns though). Fun to see your version here. You look terrific as always!

  • kellygirl replied 7 years ago

Holy Cow, you look amazing, Aida! I LOVE your WIW's--they are always so interesting and fun. Your fashion skilz are most enviable. I can't pick a fave although I really, especially love 2 and 3. You wear light colors so well. This brunette is still trying to figure that out. Glad your hard drive is back in business. As always, it is such a treat to *see* you!

  • Lynne replied 7 years ago

Love love love the pink moto, Aida, and I love your white with neutrals plus scarf outfit in number 2. Fab to the power of Fab, all of them.

  • Marley replied 7 years ago

I am weeping at the awesomeness of numbers 2, 3, and 4. The white jeans!!!!! I don't even like white jeans! But this whole outfit has me swooning! What are the brand and stryle of those jeans? Llike I told you last weekend, I'm very close to welcoming a pair into my wardrobe. And then #3 - the jacket fits you perfectly and i love it matched with the navy. And who in the world gave up that beautiful scarf? I love it! Now, as for #4 - because of the sweater that you helped me pick out this weekend, I can almost copy this outfit exactly - as I intend to do as soon as it cools down around here. Love it! Thanks for posting Aida! I always love seeing what you've come up with!

  • rae replied 7 years ago

Yay, congrats on the successful recovery! I loooove the nude boots with white jeans. Hm, maybe that is the secret to finally get me wearing my white jeans! Any excuse for more boots...

Seeing the jeans styles side by side like that is interesting. I don't initially see the difference in leg length, because I can easily see your legs are the same lengths, but the widths and proportions are drastically different.

  • lyn67 replied 7 years ago

You always look stylish, no matter what, nr 2,3 and 4 are my all time favourite!!:-) Good lesson with the visuals for leg shortening vs. lengthening actions!:-)
Kelly: that black print scarf and the darker bag do the bookending for Aida's hair, and makes nr 2 working sooooooo fab! You can do that either!

  • Deborah replied 7 years ago

Not only do I love your outfits, I really enjoy your photos. Aida you really know how to showcase your ensembles. The blush moto looks stunning, if I have to pick a favorite that would be it. As always you look amazing and really know what works for you.

  • Ginny replied 7 years ago

    Great looks Aida!
Totall love #2 &3, you look awesome and Love that jacket. The color pairings are great!! you are making me think about that blush jacket a little more, for my closet!

  • Scarlet replied 7 years ago

These are all totally rockin' it, and I have to say you look so striking and fashionable in the LA photos.

  • Kiwichik replied 7 years ago

Oh wow a veritable feast of fabulosity.

  • Aida replied 7 years ago

WOW! Thank you all for the wonderful comments, ladies!! I am happy that #4 went over so well after the mixed reviews on these jeans when I first posted them :D

Diana, I know right?? I couldn't believe it either!

Zap, I really like wearing my jackets just above the belt like this. Sometimes it gets mixed reviews here but it's a fun look, especially with loooong flared jeans and heels like I have here.

Vicki, thank you for your very sweet and detailed comment!

Sarah, yes I am really enjoying my big silk scarves these days. I went through my (rather large) pile of vintage scarves and put all of the non-giant ones away for now, so I'm happy to have them all clearly in view now :)

Angie, do you plan to continue wearing your white jeans or are you set on finding winter trousers instead? #2 was one of my most favorite outfits ever and I totally plan to wear variations of it all through fall if I can get away with it.

Kelly, I think you could wear light colors just fine :) Lyn is right on in that the dark bits in my scarf keep all the attention up near the face, while the rest of the outfit being tonally light PLUS the taupe top/boots bookending each other is vertically lengthening. I'd suggest starting with an all-light outfit with nude shoes and then experiment with swapping each piece out for something darker to see what the effects are.

Marley, the white jeans are the Kut Diana's that Angie posted about back in spring. I found the cut fairly slouchy on me, though I know most others fit into them really well. You could totally rock a pair of white jeans! Though it might be better to get a pair in the spring :) I hope you'll post some of the outfits with the cranberry turtleneck we found for you, it's so gorgeous on you!

Rae, you still have your white jeans? Wear them with all black!! It looks soooo awesome :D

Deborah, thank you for the sweet comment on my photos. I do try my best to use poses for each outfit to show it as best as I can.

  • catgirl replied 7 years ago

Girl, you look GOOD! It took me a while to figure out that you weren't wearing any new items because this was before the meetup. ;) Love these looks and can't wait to see you incorporate some ofthe new finds into the rest of your wardrobe (flowery shirt and coral jacket!).

  • Aida replied 7 years ago

Hehe yah, no new meetup items here, sorry! Actually I'm one of the few not on Team Wear so ummm I haven't worn many of them yet this week! Only the blue blouse, clutch, and a few of the jewelries. I _almost_ wore the floral top today since my husband actually liked it (!!!) but it's pouring pouring pouring >< Soon!!

  • MsMary replied 7 years ago

Oh my goodness! They are all fab but 2 and 3 are AB FAB!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!! Especially 2! And 3! The fall look with the white jeans just makes me scream with joy! And the blush moto is the best. thing. evah.

  • Aida replied 7 years ago

    Thank you Mary! :D

  • Mona replied 7 years ago

I agree with MaryK, the blush moto is the best thing evah!!!!! and your white skinnies are super fab. I have missed seeing your outfits lately. You are always so creative with colours. BTW, are these all new scarves? I dont remember seeing them.

  • Aida replied 7 years ago

Thanks Mona! I always enjoy playing with interesting color combos. Half the scarves are new, the ones in #2 and #3. The other two, in #1 and #5, are older :)

  • JulieJohn replied 7 years ago

Shazam! Girl, you look gorgeous. I especially adore #2, the scarf, the boots! I just fainted.
