WIW 09.03 [peplum and BFs, inspired by Annagybe]

Anna recently posted a lovely outfit featuring a soft top with a harness, the effect of which was a bit like a peplum top, paired with distressed BF jeans and booties. I immediately thought of copycatting with my own white peplum top, even though it's not one of my favorite pieces. However I quite like the pairing with the decidedly more tomboy lower half! These boots are new and I'll write more about them later, but for now I'll say that after pining for them all spring and summer (seriously) I'm very happy to have finally pulled the trigger! Just the type of purchase I need to be making.

It's not super warm out today (only around 70F) so I debated tossing a cropped lace moto over the top, but decided to leave that version for a much cooler day (and goodness knows we'll have plenty of those coming up sooner than not). Kept with the girlier top half and left my hair down and extra soft, then accessorized with looooong dangly earrings, a double coat of mascara, and plum lip gloss for a touch of autumn since the look is very light. The taupe clutch picks up on the back of the boots, although they're not seen unless I'm sitting or in motion.

Despite not really liking this top, I'm very happy in this outfit. Thanks for the inspiration as always, Anna! And for those curious about the new-old ratio:
Newer - jeans, boots
Older - top, earrings, clutch

I looooove this so much. Just perfect.

Wondering if I can do something similar with my long SBFs and my green peplum....

Great outfit! Fantastic booties - I love that block heel! What a great look for this weather - sleeveless but well covered on the bottom.

I am also a big fan.  I would have never though to pair peplum tops with any bottom that is not super fitted. I might copy as well :)

I love this, too. Last year I wore a black knit peplum with slouchy skinnies a lot. I haven't tried the combo this year but you are inspiring me to give it a go!

Gorgeous - the light blue with the white and the taupe touch is so light and ethereal on you. I want to copy your copy. And the boots are fantastic - luckily I already have my white booties!

    Oh wow!
Your version totally works. Great boots.

I love the soft color scheme here and adore the white booties.
I did not warm up to the peplum trend at all - somehow it never felt like myself...

So femmetastic. Love those incredible earrings too. What a fabulous collection you must have.

You look amazing!  I am going to try this with my one peplum top now.

Another great outfit. Those boots are amazing.

You have such a coy pose on one of the photos :) I can tell that the outfit gives you a flirty vibe! Aside from that: BF jeans? Peplum? Who knew? They look fabulous on you! Of course, I loooove the accessories ;)

Great outfit Aida.  I find that some peplums can be a bit over the top but this one is just the right volume.

I have been admiring your watch for a few days and finally ordered it today.

You keep getting better and better. I have a white sleeveless peplum top I don't know quite what to do with. This is it. Great boots too. Imma copy. :)

Those earrings are gorgeous on you! Wow! And I am copying your copy of Anna's outfit ^_^ I would have never thought of wearing my peplum top with BFs. Not sure why! Sometimes one just needs to be reminded I guess! Love your new boots too. Perfect color and low heeled ... Can't ask for more!

What a fun outfit. I love the contrast of the feminine peplum top with the boyfriend jeans and booties. Nicely done!

I really like the peplum top with the new booties. I picked up a couple of peplum items last year, and thought maybe I was over peplums this year, but maybe not, when you're keeping the look so fresh.

Fabulous, Aida! Love the peplum and slouchy jeans, plus the girly earrings and hair. I also think the slightly retro style booties work brilliantly with this and of course your favourite light colour palette.

love!  perfect peplum, very subtle.  as an hourglass I always feel like a peplum points to the ample lower half (even if it emphasizes the small waist). this one is ideal.  love the neutrals.  tell us about the boots!

Thanks for the comments ladies, my apologies for the late reply! I do appreciate all the feedback.

Diana, Tanya, Suz, Shevia, Una, Lisa and Neel (!!), I'd love to see your versions :D

Anna, happy to hear it ^^

Dianthus, oh how fun! I hope you love the watch as much as I do.
