A week of very casual summery outfits following the Picture Perfect Challenge, and lots of blues! (Tuesday's outfit was posted already, using AJ's scarf-as-vest trick with a polka dot scarf.) I am slowly catching up, hope you gals are still interested in these older outfits :)

  1. Monday; worn to work then out for tacos. Decided to start working black and darker colors back into my outfits on cooler days (none of which were this week!).
  2. Wednesday; worn to work, then after work my husband and I went to the Everett Aquasox baseball (single A, short season) game for dinner :) I was inspired to wear this combo by Mo (can't find the link now, but it's older I think?), and hey it's even a FL tee!
  3. Thursday; worn to work, and also out to lunch (Red Robin) with my sister, mom, and dad. Lunch was unexpected, and I was certainly over dressed but that's always fine with me. Rare day without earrings; felt like the neckline had a lot going on already.
  4. Friday; worn to work. Not sure if the sweater+shorts looks too seasonally confused? I believe it was in the mid-70s that day. (Too bad you can't really see the long feather earrings, they're so fun!)
  5. Saturday; worn for a day out with my husband. We went out for burgers, then headed down to Seattle for a Mariner's game. We got there early so we'd be sure to get our little Larry Bernandez bobbleheads (yay!). It was really warm out, and we had to stand around for an hour (the line was insanely long), so I was glad to be wearing flats and a skirt. Toothy grin (my "normal face" heh) courtesy of hubby being silly :)
  6. Sunday; worn out with hubby to buy some night stands, new bed covers, and some decorating stuff. After wearing a watch for one outfit during the Picture Perfect challenge, I just wanted to keep wearing it! I wore it Friday without it working and then decided I better get a battery, so I did :) I'm now totally a convert to Team Watch and have been wearing daily since!

Aida, you have the cool casual thing nailed!

I wore my Hinge feather print blouse on Thursday for my last full-time day at the radio station. I like how you've styled it here -- it got me thinking, and I realized I got a pair of teal-green jeans on a super discount in NYC, and I bet they would look good with that shirt! Somehow I never thought of that until I saw your gray jeans.

It's SO fun to see you in ballet flats, Aida! (You are welcome on my Team any time). Those are my favourite outfits here - although all ensembles are fabulous because you have a great sense of style. Loving you in emerald green :)

    #4 is my best. KILLER.

I especially love #2. Those jeans look great on you!

#3, you can overdress anytime! The green shoes are lovely with this blue print.

All the rest are fantastic, too. Loving all the bracelets, esp. Thanks for taking the detailed photos.

I love seeing these sweet summery looks (we are starting to layer a bit here :)! If I had to pick faves, I especially love 2, 4, and 5! The jeans in 2 look great with the sandals and tee--very cool casual. The lime green skinny belt with the modern-looking top in 4 are awesome, and I love the floaty, gentle skirt with the denim (and bookending with your black flats!). Fab week!

Thank you for the comments ladies! :D

Janet, great idea for the teal jeans! That's got me thinking we could probably pull any of the colors in the feather print to use in outfits (mustard, pink...), sounds fun to try!

Angie, I've definitely been feeling flat and lower heeled shoes lately (I have a gorgeous pair I just bought that I hope to post soon)! I do need to find a way to add enough arch support to these lower shoes though. Clearly I need more flats, as I wore the same pair in all the photos above hehe! I only have 2 that are comfy and don't pinch/rub, and another 3 that aren't comfy at all; I hope to replace the latter two soon.

I have the same dress as #3 but in green/yellow/brown. It never occurred to me to add a belt to it until I saw your picture. I need to try that next time I wear the dress. I love the casual shorts outfit in #4. It's casual yet still looks pulled together.

Those outfits are perfect for our weather right now. You had a great week. my favorites are #3 and #1.

So much inspiration! I would wear 2, 4, and 6 in a heartbeat. I have loved your use of lighter colors this summer.

Four is so much fun! I love all of these, but four is so cool!

Totally agreed with what Janet said - your casual wear is amazing!

I love that HInge blouse and faux-wrap dress on you particularly. I like that you unintentionally "batted for team dressy" on Wednesday - way to represent "my" team!

What a great variety of looks throughout the week. Love that you've made casual shorts outfits so stylish. And the dress and skirt outfits are perfect on you.

I like what you did with the Hinge peacock blouse -- over the mid-color pants. I'll have to recreate that one ;-)

I always enjoy your collage pics too!

I love that Hinge blouse on you so much, and I also love how much fun you're having with these outfits - the shorts, the flats, the emerald green tee...you look terrific. I also ADORE your toothy grin - we should get to see that more often!

  • Sara replied 12 years ago

They're all great. Love #2 and #5 the best.

  • Heather replied 12 years ago

Aida, the retro green tee with the crisp white blazer is rockin'! LOVE!!!!

I also love you in the ballet flats with the jorts. Could it be August again? Please? ;D

  • Lisa replied 12 years ago

It appears I am stuck on your footwear this week. Those tweed printed ballet flats are so neat! And I really like the green pumps with the blue printed dress in #3. I would not have thought to add green to this outfit and it 100% works. And I especially like those bronze sandals (and bag) in #6.

I'm with Heather, #2, the green t with the white blazer, is extra fab on you. You look GREAT in green.

Edit to add: I don't mind a sweater with shorts as in #4, because the arms are exposed, so you have some skin exposure on the top and bottom. Nice job!

Aida, I'm SO looking forward to shopping with you in just a couple of weeks!!!!!

Way to make a graphic tee and pair of jeans look incredibly fab. Love that dress in #3 and the green shoes are amazing. I think #4 is a perfect representation of the seasonally confused weather we've been having! LOL! I love the sweater with the shorts and the pop of yellow. If you're in the market for some new flats, maybe in a fun color? When it gets cooler would you wear a pair of shorts with tights and boots? I love that look, but just can't imagine wearing it myself. And I absolutely adore #5.

Thank you all for the great feedback, ladies! The emerald green got a lot of love, guess I should be looking to add more of that to my wardrobe :)

Sara L., the yellow/green version of this dress is awesome! Belts really open up the styling options for it.

Rae, it's been really fun (and educational!) wearing the lighter colors for summer, especially since I was so used to wearing mostly dark shades. An added bonus: my "fall" clothes seem new because I haven't been wearing them, and my urge to shopshopshop for fall has been dramatically reduced!

Sarah, fun is the most important thing! :D

Lisa, thank you! Footwear is my happiest wardrobe item :) In #3 the dress's print has some olive in it, so I also added the yellow necklace and olive belt to tie in the green shoes. Glad you think it worked well!

Christy, me too it's going to be sooo fun, can't wait to shop! Colored flats are totally on my list, I REALLY want a pair of bright cobalt flats for this season! Maybe we'll find a pair on the 8th :) I do love the shorts+tights+boots/flats look and plan to sport often this fall. I've been wearing the shorts+no hose+boots look the past week since it's been warm but super fall-ish. I think you could sport this look, especially if you found a dressier pair of shorts!
