WIW 07.10-13 (last week with long hair!)

As I said in my previous WIW post, prior to getting my hair cut I decided to wear it up the two weekends before, and down the week before. So here they are ladies, the last work outfits with my hair down before the Big Chop! :D

  1. Tuesday, worn to work and then the monthly local typography get together. I wanted to do a white-out outfit while I had lots of dark hair to add drama to the look. I almost went full on with a white bag and nude lips, but decided I was more in the mood for bright pink lips and emerald bag.
  2. Wednesday, worn to work. Also wanted to get one more Really Boho Look in with the long hair! Based on an outfit I wore last summer which I never posted, so it's new to you gals ^^ You can't see them too well, but I've also got bright fuchsia toe nails because I just love how fuchsia looks with red! Since most of YLF is on a BF jean kick, these are my BF flares from last spring; they are SUPER DUPER baggy :)
  3. Thursday, worn to work and out for dinner. This was an outfit I had jotted down to try a month or so ago. Imagine my surprise when I got to work and found Angie's post of the lovely Karen wearing almost the exact same thing that day! It ended up being too hot for the blazer (!) so it was only worn indoors.
  4. Friday, worn to work then out for date night. This was the day I was _supposed_ to get my hair cut, but my girlfriend who I was going with to try her stylist had to cancel at the last minute (which worked out just fine!); hubby and I then planned to go to a baseball game, but shortly before the game it started pouring (and I mean POURING) and the game was rained out. So this outfit was designed to work for both of those events, even though I didn't do either: I'd wanted something casual enough for the game, but that would still give the stylist a sense of my style. The jacket was for nighttime at the game, so it didn't get worn. I did end up wearing this same sweater the following Monday when I finally DID get my hair cut :)

ADORE the outfit in pic #2 - between those fab baggy flare jeans and that adorable vest, it's fabulous!

Your other outfits are fab too of course, but I just can't get past #2!

Love #2!! You pull off those baggy jeans so well without looking slobbish (is that a word?) The vest and top are great and pulls the look together. Love your spunky poses too.

Wow Wow Wow Wow! Love all four of these, but the standouts for me are #2 (love the wide faded jeans and the vest and the whole 70s vibe) and #3 (culottes! love!).

Where are you getting your big baggy wide legged jeans Aida? They are starting to grow on me and I want to try a pair of them! I think my favorite outfit is the 2nd one - I love the vest and colors. But also love the last outfit - the color of the top is beautiful on you!

my favorites arr 1 and 4. the long white line in 1 is s elegant. And I guess I am just in love with the purple shirt in 4. Love it every time you wear it!

PS. Love you for rewearing things again and again. I don't post pics have the time because it is all rewear and so many people are posting new things all the time, I had felt a little silly posting. So thanks for showing how it is done!

#3 is my favorite! Also love #1, you look beautiful in white. For #2, I am loving that you are wearing a vest. Lately I have been looking for vests to add to my look, it's new territory for me and I'm dying to go there.

Is no 3 your culottes? I love this outfit. The length and gentle flare of the pants leg is gorgeous, and those sandals are stunnning. I also particularly love the vest in 2.

Ok, I guess I am the only one on this forum who actually misses your long hair. Not that you dont look absolutely pretty and fab in your new hair cut. I first saw your pics and then read the description above. I was thinking #1 is my favourite as there is something unexpected in this then I read your description and you said you wanted to create drama. Oh! I love love love this. I am totally going to copy this look with my new white long and leans.

A wonderful set of inspirations, as always.

Thanks for all the lovely comments, ladies! (Sorry to get back to this so late ><)

Marley, the baggy flared jeans in #2 are a pair I thrifted last spring by DKNY. I think you could achieve a similar effect by sizing up one or two sizes in bootcut or flared jeans.

Janye, please do post more often, most (if not all) of us don't mind repeats one bit! I certainly understand feeling like people are always posting new things. Challenging myself to wear what I have in a different way each time is the primary way I'm able to keep my wardrobe (and budget!) focused.

Deborah, yep those are my slim culottes in #3! They're an all-season material, but unfortunately are wearing thin. So I am very much hoping to find a cream wider pair, and perhaps another slim black pair to replace these.

Mona, thanks for the long hair love :) It's certainly easier to create light/dark drama with the longer hair (and add some spunk with a high pony), and I do miss being able to do that. But the short hair is all spunky all the time, and that's fun for now, too :)

All the outfits are fab but I especially like #2 and #3. They both have a hint of boho and funk to my eye and I'm really drawn to that style of look on you.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Thanks, Lisa! My boho side definitely comes through much stronger in summer :) #3 feels a bit sportier than what I usually wear, which I'm noticing I'm a bit more drawn to now that my hair is shorter.
