A week of backlogged outfits (yikes didn't realize how behind I was!).

  1. Work then dinner. Halfway through the day remembered it was my mother-in-law's birthday dinner (with out of town grandparents and all). While not as nice as what I'd have worn had I remembered the dinner OR had time to change, it was still a perfectly appropriate outfit. And it made me happy that I put in effort to dress well even though I usually only see 1 or 2 people a day. Right photo is me getting attacked by a fly ^^
  2. Worn to work. Not sure I like the gray leggings with this, or maybe I need another dark element on the bottom half?
  3. Worn to work. First outing with my oxfords, love 'em.
  4. Worn to work (and probably out somewhere, I forget). Another take on the red+fuchsia combo. Also, new pendant! I really love how this turned out, one of my favorites ever :D Almost makes me want to get more items in fuchsia. Almost.
  5. Worn to work then out for date night dinner with my husband. Still feeling the pair-colors-near-each-other-on-the-color-wheel vibe.
  6. Worn out clothes shopping. This was super easy to change in and out of.
  7. Worn to buy fireworks, followed by dinner out with friends, then had them and some other friends over to hang out by the fire pit. EDIT: Eek, please excuse the terrible colors here, I didn't adjusted the white balance when taking the photos -_-

Look at you rocking those oxfords and red jeans, awesome!

  • Harmony replied 13 years ago

All of your outfits are stunning. My favorites are 2 and 3 and cute oxfords. :)

  • lyn* replied 13 years ago

Wow; I need to invest in some red jeans, it appears! They look great on you :)

  • rae replied 13 years ago

Hellllloooo, red jeans! 4 and 5 are my favorites! Close color pairings always rock my socks... You also work those soft colors like nobody's business.

    Superb week Aida.

All of your new purchases are dynamite. Very interesting pendant, killer oxfords.

Re grey leggings and shoes. The dark ones would bookend your hair but have you thought of changing the belt and see what you think?

  • Joy replied 13 years ago

Cute, cute, cute! Love those oxfords.

  • Suz replied 13 years ago

Ooh! Love #4!! I really like #5, too - the combo of colours.

Re the grey leggings, I have a feeling this is probably just a photo thing. It seems as if the grey isn't quite going with the greys in the top, but I suspect in real life it does and it is just a trick of the light. Of course you could wear black ones, too, but this works.

You had a great style week. You look great. The Oxfords look fab and I love the flats in the final pic:)

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

    Thanks for the comments!

Freckles - I didn't even think about the belt setting things off. I've worn it with a light belt before and that certainly balanced things out with light bottoms. Thanks, will keep that in mind for next time!

Suz - I think you are right about the gray tones, the dress is warmer and the leggings cooler. Without a third gray to make it all look on purpose it just ends up off; or could be that they're both jersey so there's just not enough textural difference. Will have to keep that in mind, too.

My favorite is 1! amazing sunglasses!

  • CocoLion replied 13 years ago

The red/fuchsia outfit is great! Also love #1 and 6. But my favorite is #7. I like the calm neutral tones, the silver necklace, and the pops of black -- shoes, belt and hair. It is so chic.

I've looked a few times to come up with a favorite. I like brights alot but you do a great job of mixing neutrals and the softer soothing colors. Both work really well with your coloring. I do really like the aqua with the blue dress and the taupe/grey combo and the soft sagey green jeans are a perfect fit for you.

A great week all in all.

  • mustard replied 13 years ago

My favorites is #5. Love the necklaces in #1 and #7. The flats in #7 look fun.

  • sarah replied 13 years ago

You had a super week, Aida. I REALLY like those new oxfords. They are v. cool, IMO. And their color works well in your soft palette outfits.

  • Lynne replied 13 years ago

Love it! I would wear your MILs-birthday dinner outfit in a heartbeat, Aida. And the pink and red is AWESOME. One day we will have to organize a YLF meet up with you so we can all learn how to use our camera and put pics together.

  • Angie replied 13 years ago

It's so nice to see you in flats!!! Those are my favourite outfits here! #6 is my absolute best!!!

(can you tell I'm excited about your flats?)

  • Jonesy replied 13 years ago

What a great week! That dress in 2 is so fab, the fuschia and red is all kinds of awesome, and I just looove the striped top, shorts, and oxfords!

  • nicoleb replied 13 years ago

Loooooove your grey oxfords! And that red + fuschia pairing is amaaaazing!

  • modgrl replied 13 years ago

Love all the outfits with the oxfords. You can really rock that semituck!
    Nice week!

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Thank you all for the lovely comments, ladies :D

CL, Dianthus - I've found I like to wear either very soft muted colors or very strong bright colors, nothing in between. Perhaps not the most versatile in terms of wardrobe color management, hehe!

Lynne - For you, when my work calms down a bit, I'll look into making a video or fancy photo tutorial about my full photo taking and editing process (I think it's around 30-60 minutes per outfit from start to finish).

Angie - *giggle* Thought you'd like that ^^ I'm trying to wear my flats more, which is much easier when the weather warms up because that's my favorite time to wear them. I am looking to improve my collection, but it's so hard with high arches and also I get distracted by all the pretty heels ;)

    Your posts are so delicious!
I love seeing lots of "old friends" here :)
I'm glad to see the belt in no.2, can we see that awesome skirt you wore with it before again too? The necklace in no.7 is one of my favorites on you.
Lots of fun with the bangles, I love that.
Great color explosion in no.4 (I checked that photo first :) ).
I adore the polkadot dress and would like to see it worn with some, even the smallest heels next time. And just for fun, how about wearing that dress with red handbag?

  • lynn replied 13 years ago

Love #6! Of course I love stripes so I could be biased! You had a cute week!

  • Heather replied 13 years ago

Aida, honestly, I did a double take on the date! Lawd, child! You are seriously behind! LOL!

Um, so I love that you are jumping on the vivid color bandwagon, too. The fuschia/red combo was made for you, Pretty Lady! These red trousers were the best thrift!! I always enjoy them in the rotation.

So, true to form, I look at your gorgeous photos first. I thought the photo of you (fly attack) was a very good pose (I love those sunnies). :D HA! Aida, that is your signature model look: The Fly Attack.

  • Queen Mum replied 13 years ago

    Love, love , love 4 and 5!
I have a pair of red jeans in my Nordie's wish list, but can't bring myself to pull the trigger. Maybe if I find a bargain priced pair.. what are yours?

  • morethanbeige replied 13 years ago

#1 and #4 are my favorites! But, honestly, all are so FAB. I love your posts. The attention you give to detail is amazing. And nobody does casual, cool, interesting, and effortless-looking better than you!

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Thanks for the great comments ladies!

Ornella - I'm actually happy to see old friends here too! I feel like I had such a huge spring/summer turnover that I haven't even gotten around to wearing all my new stuff that much (also the weather here was awful until just recently). I just did a seasonal rearrangement of my closet last night which should help a lot; all I have in there is spring/summer stuff now! I will be sure to wear the brown midi as soon as Fall rolls around :)

Heather - SO behind >< *giggle* I will have to practice The Fly Attack! You can actually see him in the photo, little black blur above the top stripe of the cardigan on my right side. I agree with you about the red jeans, I knew I'd wear them a few times at least but I REALLY LOVE them :D

Kim - I thrifted these red jeans. They're a junior's brand, Abbey Dawn or something, so the rise is, erhm, low. I've got my eyes peeled for a higher quality, higher rise pair. Though I also want blue or green, and I DO technically already have a red pair....

  • MsMary replied 13 years ago

SO FAB!! The red and fuschia is just knocking my socks off! And the others are amazing, too! Love it all!! :)
