WIW 06.24 (wine tasting with Kari and Christy!)

What I wore out for some tasty food and wine with fabulous forum members Kari and Christy! Kari posted some real-time photos while we were out, and I also took a few which I'm including here. We started with coffee at Tully's, then lunch at JJ Mahoney's (one of my favorite Irish pubs), then wine tastings at two wineries (Alexandria Nicole and Mark Ryan). Loads of fun, and fabulous company!

#1 is what I wore. We had some wonky weather this week, a couple warm days followed by some SERIOUS rain so I was expecting the weather to be cool and wet. Sunday morning the forecast jumped up 10 degrees to 70F with only a slight chance of rain, so I had to change my planned outfit at the last minute and wear something a bit cooler. I didn't think it would _actually_ get that warm, but it did (yay!) and I ended up spending most of the day without the blazer on.

#2 and 3 were taken at lunch. We sat outside where it was gloriously sunny and warm. The noonday sun was so bright that sunglasses were a must for Christy and I!

#4 and 5 were taken at Alexandria Nicole Winery (Christy got us in with her member's card, which also got us an extra tasting!). We mostly stood around the bar (you can see it in #4) and gabbed while tasting, but they had a lovely outdoor patio where we had someone take our photo (and I insisted that he include our shoes!).

#6 was taken at Mark Ryan Winery. They had some standing room and some outdoor seating, so of course we sat outside to further enjoy the sun while sipping our tasty wines, and chatting and chatting some more!

(P.S. You can see Christy's outfit post here, and Kari's outfit post here. Don't they both look amazing? :D )

You all look Fab, and I love the casual layering in your outfit Aida.

    3 gorgeous FABers!

I like the layered tops with the blazer, Aida.

So glad the weather warmed up for your gathering. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent pictures! Aida, so many of your outfits make me think of nature scenes; I don't know if it is intentional but it is wonderful. Anyway I love these colors on you. All three of you look stunning and the winery doesn't look bad either.

    Thanks Lyn, AJ, and Shevia!

Shevia, I don't know if it's consciously intentional but I definitely draw most of my inspiration (for art, or anything really) from nature. This softer dressing style leg seems to even more than usual, though I definitely have always had a strong organic element to my style preferences, but my boho side definitely doesn't skew earthy (weird?). My photo location probably helps, too ;)

You all look absolutely great, I'll admit to being quite jealous! It sounds like you had a lovely time.
I really like the colour combos in your outfit, you layer so well.

This is now my new favourite outfit of yours Aida! I love the colour combination of the various greens with the light jacket and neutral shoes. Speaking of shoes, are those the Boutique 9's? I thought yours had been ruined???They look fab with this outfit.

And Kari and Christy's outfits are equally gorgeous - love the picture of the three of you (pic #3) - so cheery and pretty!

You all look great and you're making me thirsty now. I love your top and almost think you could add your AT neon necklace to dress it up (but that might be too much?)

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Hah! Kari! You are in the purple dress I linked to yesterday as a fab find! It looks GREAT.

You all look fabulous! Colourful, happy and stylish. What a fun day :)

I really dig the red bag with your varied shades of green - and all the bright, colored bags together? Too cute!!

    Thanks for the lovely comments ladies! We definitely had a great time :}

Shannon, thank you! Since I panicked about the weather last second, I looked briefly back on my outfit photos from recent weeks and decided to go with this current fave tee+jean combo which I've worn several times (quite a bit for me). I just switched up the topper, footwear, and accessories! And yes these are the Boutique 9 booties, I finally found a pair in my size at the right price a couple weeks ago. The motor oil pair is almost ready to be worn out and about as well, they actually turned out really cool.

JJ, we were on the same wavelength! I _almost_ wore the neon necklace but then decided that with the print and the layering (and my hair) and the colored jeans there was probably enough going on in the outfit. But I do plan to wear the top half with neutral bottoms and the neon necklace soon!

    You all look great!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

    Thank you Brenda :D

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

I can't remember - what did you do to the motor oil pair? Did you dye them?

These ones look spectacular with the outfit. I really like the layering and the soft greens. Maybe your boho side is "water."

The three of you look so terrific. YLF is the most amazing place, that real-life friendships can grow out of online acquaintance!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Thanks Suz! I think you are probably right about the "water". The nature around me is all possible because of the huge amount of water we get; the beautiful mountains, lush evergreenery, and of course the ocean.

So, the motor oiled pair of booties kind of dyed themselves; I let them soak together in water when they still had oil on them, then set them out in the sun to dry, and they have magically become a gorgeous deep chestnut color :} I've been slowly working on conditioning the daylights out of 'em to repair the heavy water (and sun) damage, and they also shrunk a bit so I've also been stretching them out. Here's a little preview of how they look now:

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

WOW! That is fantastic. Look at those! It was meant to be. Can't wait to see you wearing them. You'll start a new trend. Maybe you should send a photo to Boutique 9 so they can consider adding this colour to their line-up.

  • Kari replied 11 years ago

Aida, you looked stunning - and I love how you made the coral purse and emerald jeans blend smoothly together!

It was such a blast to get together with you and Christy, and I can't wait to meet up again.

Wow! That is fantastic that your booties ended up transforming into a gorgeous color. Remind me, what color did they start out with?

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Suz, right? I have been struggling a bit with what to pair them with since I don't wear dark shoes much in summer, but I'll figure it out soon I'm sure!

Kari, thank you! All of your spicy colors have gotten me craving coral :D The oiled booties started out as the ones I'm wearing here actually! So now I have two, one taupe (the ones I wore Sunday) and one chestnut (the oiled).
