WIW 06.05 [sort-of-summer vest]

I say "sort of summer" because it's not super warm, just in the low 70s; I love wearing my sleeveless vests over sleeveless tops in mild weather, it's especially comfortable for days where a jacket would be too much and I’m not in the mood for sleeves (like today). Coincidentally I wore this the day before Angie's great summer vest ensemble post (and before seeing that day's post about summer vests) ^^ No peep toe booties for the outfit but I did keep with the ankle interest, opting for ankle-strap pumps and rolling the hems of the trousers.

This cream moto vest is rather oversized when open, and somewhat oversized zipped up. To keep it a bit more streamlined looking, I wore a tonal ivory sequined top beneath it. I didn't want to wear jeans, so I pulled out these very relaxed, lightweight trousers; also found the hectic checks a fun match for the sequins. The hems are turned up once, though it's not super noticeable, which puts them just above the ankle straps of the pumps. Last year I'd have worn this with white pumps, and even though I've only had these pumps a short time, I can already tell that I'll enjoy the added texture (suede) and color interest (light gray) that they'll add to my white-heavy outfits. Had extra wild hair, so I opted for simple silver circular earrings to echo the sequins and coral lip gloss. Chose the neon-streaked black clutch to add a little extra chaos and pick up on the hectic plaid of the pants.

Oh Aida!  Ahead of the curve and lovely as always!  You have a very well put together style and a great eye for details...I love it!

  • Suz replied 5 years ago

This is stunning! I have such a soft spot for those pants; I've never seen an outfit including them that I didn't like. But this is beyond brilliant. I agree about the shoes.

What is the vest? Is it still available?

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

    Thank you Missey and Suz!

Suz, the vest was from H&M last spring so unfortunately isn't currently available. Those pants actually had a matching blazer which I regret not purchasing. I don't know if I'd wear them together often, but the print is one of my favorites and the material is soooo nice.

Beautiful outfit. Is hard to pick favorites from your always great outfits but this one really has me drooling over it.

Those pants are fantastic, and they look perfect with the vest. The ankle strap shoes are super fab!

I love everything about this.  The pattern on the clutch is the perfect finishing touch.  I love the way you put it, to add "a little extra chaos".  So good!

And another great one! Love those pants.

So is that top ivory then? I have it "under consideration" from a previous post, but I'm a white girl.

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

Thank you very much ladies! :D

Elizabeth, my sequin top is ivory but I think the one that I posted in the finds is actually white. So it could be worth a try for you!

So gorgeous and effortlessly stylish! Love the moto vest on you. I really need to figure out how to get mine into rotation. Mine is very similar and also from HM. Must study your example!

  • Sveta replied 5 years ago

This is awesome, Aida! From ankle strap suede pumps to silky slouchy pants to the cool moto vest... I would copy it in a heartbeat if I had the right pieces for it!

  • Neel replied 5 years ago

I love daytime sparkle and this is the best such outfit I have seen! Love how the moto contrasts the sequins. Would you get annoyed if I copied all your outfits? Lol :D

i like the mix of the tonal creams and whites. i like the way they build on each other and the effect of the different textures. love the plaid with this. Fab

I like your sleeveless mood. I think the shapes and proportions are great, (as usual.) It's always a nice surprise to see the polished footwear with your casual ensembles. The one-roll- up on the pants works perfectly with the ankle straps.

Thank you all very much for the lovely comments!

Kelly and Sveta, I could definitely see both of you wearing something like this in your own special ways ^^

Neel, hah feel free, I would be flattered. You put a great spin on all of your outfits :D

I love the easy, slightly slouchy, relaxed vibe of your outfit Aida. Once again so well thought out and just the right amount of interest with pattern and detail. Fabulous!

  • pil replied 5 years ago

Great shoes and another terrific outfit!

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

    Thank you Diane and Pil!

Diane, hmm an "easy, slightly slouchy, relaxed vibe" feels just the right amount for me these days. I think I'll be scaling back how oversized my future purchases are, though certainly continue to wear the more oversized things I already have.

I love that the shoes are suede. So lush.

  • Joy replied 5 years ago

Cool outfit!  You have the vest I've been looking for (if it is fabric).  Where did you find it?  (Oops, I see it in the answer to Suz.)  The shoes are beautiful too.

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

    Thanks Viva and Joy!

Joy, ah yes sorry no longer available. This vest is a faux leather. I haven't really seen any good lower or mid-range white/cream fabric moto vests out there.
