WIW 06.03 [ensemble: ruffle hem top & cropped bottoms]

This morning I had to get up verrryyy early -- 4:30am, and
I'm so not a morning person! -- to drive my sis to the airport. For that part of the day I groggily managed my tuxedo-stripe sweats, an oversized charcoal sweater, checked flats, and gray rock crystal studs (+oversized sunnies, of course) with hair up. No photos but it was quite comfy for three hours in the car.

After that I returned home and got ready for work as usual. Angie's ensemble post this morning was just what I am in the mood to wear! Debuting one of two new ruffle hem tops; the color in the stock photo is more accurate than mine though it's as bright as my photos show. Juicy watermelon shades are usually too cool for me but happily this one is nice and warm! This top also needs a little torso slimming if I manage to get around to it but I might also just leave it extra roomy as it's a very lightweight cotton and quite comfortably breezy. Paired with white and more pink (why not!), along with matching lippie and new hoops/sunnies picked up while shopping with my sis yesterday (I might have a problem with giant hoops! Can't stop wearing!).

Loooove wearing cheerfully bright outfits so this has a super high happiness factor :D

You look so very young and vibrant in this fit.  To me you always look elegant.  This color is beautiful on you

Whoot! Two Aida posts in one day! I lurve the happy pink colour with the zingy white. I see you are sandal twins with Angie too! I think the top shape is perfect on you and I agree that it could stay as is, without slimming down the torso as the fabric is so airy. Gorgeous new hoops too!

Hey, I like your ruffle. It's good. A good ruffle isn't necessarily easy to find. A lot look like bed skirts...

  • Tanya replied 8 years ago

This is so pretty on you, Aida! love the top and the sandals together.

Beautiful! I love the layered hems, the soft blush jacket over the outfit, and those neat gladiator sandals with the cropped pants. Your hair up is a really nice addition to this feminine look.

You are sooooo fabulous! That pink top is amazing on you!

You look gorgeous here - well, you look gorgeous all of the time, but this is a great colour for you.  Love this shade of pink against white and then the dark hair.

  • JAileen replied 8 years ago

Gorgeous outfit! The top looks wonderful on you.

  • Inge replied 8 years ago

Oh WOW, Aida!!!! I can totally see why the happiness factor is so high, just looking at these pics is making me smile big time!!
What a beautiful blouse. Love the silhouette and the colour on you. And the two pinks together paired with the white jeans and your dark hair: perfection!
The sandals look super with the jeans too!

  • Inge replied 8 years ago

P.S. Oversized hoop earrings and graphic clutch are fantastic too!

This is a wardrobe ensemble that I am destined to adore.  You look amazing.

ETA:  I looked at this on the Nordstrom site.  You look far better than the stock model.  I am purchasing this same top based on YOUR picture.

Hot pink is soooo beautiful on you Aida!! Ylf!

  • kellygirl replied 8 years ago

You are just too cute for words! Love this, Aida. Playful and stylish and super fresh.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Thank you ladies! Happy to hear love for my happy outfit :D

Rachy, YES they are tough especially for my punk side ;) I'd love to find a split-back blouse with a ruffled bottom with sleeves. Or maybe sunray pleating instead. Probably neither one exists though (always a problem...).

Sharan, hee I was actually planning to wear this with a new scarf but it was tooooo warm today for that! Hair went up before I decided it or I'd have left it down. I like the look with it up though, adds a little extra playfulness to an already playful look.

Aida, you are KILLING me. This is incredible. I love the contrast with yesterday's (equally stellar) outfit. This one is so feminine and vivid; the other was so strong.

So, please tell me about the Loft kick crops. Did you take your normal size and did you have to alter for length? Did you buy petite?

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

Killer Adorable. I LOVE that sour pink. Your outfit makes me happy.

I didn't know we are sandal twins. You kept it a secret!

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

    Thanks Suz and Angie!

Suz, so the kick crops. Many on the forum lamented that they have very narrow knees, which was a boon for me. I did take the petite and as you know I almost never do! The main reasons I stuck with the Petite versus Regular is that 1) the knee break was in the right spot for once! 2) no hemming needed. Length is OK bordering short on me because my calves are a little long, but the Reg was QUITE a lot longer; I am actually debating grabbing another pair (again petite) to pick the hem out of so that I have a longer length option as well. The rise is not optimal but still a serviceable mid-rise; the main issue is that these are the Modern cut, which is what I usually get, and they start to curve back in a bit lower than my body does so I wonder if perhaps I should've tried the Curvy. Reg rise was much better. As for sizing, I think it's my usual LOFT size? For reference I got these in a 26/2P. The GAP Resolution straights from last season I have in 26, and in KUT I'm between a 0 and 2 depending.

Angie, oh yes, sorry! I did keep them, though waffled for a good long while. Have worn a couple times and really like them, but they seem to be rubbing right at the base of my big toe nails. Need to grab some moleskin or something to put inside.

Oooh, the shocking pink makes me so happy!  You look so pretty in it.  I also really love how the straps on your shoes mirror the stripes on the clutch.

  • Momo replied 8 years ago

Love this. Beautiful color on you and the sandals are great!

  • carter replied 8 years ago

    Ridiculously beautiful! Perfect outfit.

  • Suz replied 8 years ago

Aida, thank you -- that's super helpful. I might have to see if I can try them on when I'm in Toronto. I really like this length with these shoes in particular. And wow, that top is glorious on you.

  • Joy replied 8 years ago

You are so beautiful. I love the girlyness of this outfit and the playful hair.

  • Sally replied 8 years ago

What pretty colours. You look sensational.

  • Bonnie replied 8 years ago

I love everything about this outfit. Color, style, and fit are perfect.

  • Maneera replied 8 years ago

You look pretty gorgeous for someone who woke up too early & isn't a morning person!!! Sensational color on you....you look "extra" pretty (as if that's even possible ;) ) Everything here is just perfect ---the ruffle hem, the shoes, the clutch, the hoop earrings. Love it!

PS: You wear hoops VERY well

  • jenanded replied 8 years ago

    Soooo pretty!

  • RobinF replied 8 years ago

So cute, love the jacket with it. And that clutch again!

  • Karie replied 8 years ago

Oh my goodness! You look absolutely gorgeous in that shade of bright pink. And those chunky heeled sandals look perfect with the length of your white jeans.

  • skylurker replied 8 years ago

Wow, that pink is such a happy colour on you. A pretty outfit with lots of verve, not sugary.

  • catgirl replied 8 years ago

We haven't seen you in this color before - why on earth? It's so good on you! It's a very Indian shade of pink and I can see it with so many things. Amazing!

Also looks like a nice V that isn't too low... You know I love that!

  • rabbit replied 8 years ago

Love this, so delicious!  The colors are perfect on you. I can copycat the top half with white jeans, but need white sandals....great to see those in action.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Thank you all so much :D

Maneera, heee yes I really do love my hoops! Need to get a few more pairs in some different metals to mix things up.

Skylurker, YES pretty without being sugary is what I tend to aim for (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't), glad to hear you think this hits that mark.

Una, you're right I don't typically wear this color. Mainly because it's tough to find versions that aren't 100% cool-toned. This one has a little warm berry tint to it! My mom says I liked to wear this color a lot as a kid; my memory of it is more that she liked me in it so she put me in it ^^

Rabbit, woohoo! I hope you're able to pull something together. Looking forward to seeing it.

  • Jaime replied 8 years ago

Gorgeous! I wouldn't change a thing, except to have you wear it more often!

  • pil replied 8 years ago

Wow - beautiful! I love those sandals.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Hah, yes Jaime I will try to do so! I'm planning to wear with bright orange bottoms later this week.

    Thank you, Pil.

  • Laurie replied 8 years ago

I'm so far behind on the loveliness on YLF.

Aida!  "Pretty" is the first adjective that came to my mind when I opened this, and I see it used so many times in the comments. So, so pretty.  I really love your hair up like that, and the contrast of your dark hair with the whites and pinks is fantastic.
