A week of outfits from a couple weeks ago. Lots of experimentation in this week, and another boat trip :)

  1. Worn to work. I got this scarf back in March but hadn't worn it yet; tied like a men's tie. Without having done the art challenge, I'd have paired brown or navy heels with this.
  2. Worn to work, then later in the evening to watch the hockey game. I think this turned out OK with the jacket on, but worn without probably would look better with nude fishnets.
  3. Worn to work. Red jeans! I thrifted these back in March, and finally fit into them. While the rise is too low (especially in the back), they'll certainly do while I hunt down the perfect pair. I'm excited to (finally) work bright pants into my outfits! Now I just need an an electric blue pair...
  4. Worn to work then out to Safeco Field to watch a Mariner's game with my husband (which they won, woo!). Felt like adding a little boho flair, wore my new feather and chain earrings. The stacked bangles were fun, though noisy ;)
  5. Worn on the boat for trip #2! Went out on the Sound for a couple hours, but found the water was still really choppy due to our unusually cold weather (gorgeous views, though!). This was a great boating outfit, but I definitely need to get some moleskin for the backs of these shoes. Later in the evening my sis came over and we watched the hockey game.

You and hubby make such a cute couple!

All your outfits are fab as usual, experiments and all. I especially like #2. The red skinnies outfit is out of this world!

  • taylor replied 12 years ago

You always get it JUST right!! each day. You in your red denim and the perfect shirt is just killer...the best I have seen:)
LOVE your hair pulled off your face:)

  • Queen Mum replied 12 years ago

I simply adore #2! I agree, nude fishnets would have been better, but it is still a super fab outfit.

  • rae replied 12 years ago

Fun week - the red looks especially fun on you. Pants as well as that bikini top. :) Also love those boots, of course!

  • Carole replied 12 years ago

All great outfits, Loving #2 and 3 especially! What fun you are having with your boat-please wear sunscreen!

  • Debora replied 12 years ago

Great week! I especially love those red skinny jeans - so fab! You and hubby look so relaxed and happy on your boat. :)

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

Such a great week! I can't pick a fave--all of these are winners. Love the red skinnies on you, love the scarf/jacket combo in the first outfit, love the skirt, love the rugged boho thing in 4, love the boat pics :).

Fabulous week. I love the first two with the jackets, and the others are great, too! Lucky you to get a clear view of the mtns from your boat - how wonderful.

  • annette replied 12 years ago

I look forward to your posts... I think you are creative and have a wonderful sense of style. You also seem to always look like it is YOUR style, if you know what I mean. I want to have that!

  • annagybe replied 12 years ago

Really good week. You seem to pushing yourself stylistically. I want to add a necklace to #3.

  • Sveta replied 12 years ago

They all great but my favorite is #1. I have exactly the same scarf - thanks for giving me an idea how to wear it.
Great boat pictures - lucky you to live so close to the ocean and mountains!

  • Heather replied 12 years ago

Aida, I didn't know you had thrifted red jeans!!!! They fit you perfectly (I love the denim shirt!)

I also love the cat graphic tee. Very fun for a baseball game.

And the bonus boat pics are always welcome. So stylish for a day on the lake. <3

  • lyn* replied 12 years ago

#2 is awesome and amazing! Those boots are fab! :D I want. *yoink*

And those red jeans are a great find :) Fit you very well!

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

I always love your posts because you're often in motion in the pics! And outside, too, where you actually WORE it! ;-)

A great week, but I especially love #2 and #3! And the jacket in #1.

  • Kyle replied 12 years ago

No. 2? Love. No. 3? Love. The red jeans are fierce.

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

Wow, thanks for all the wonderful comments ladies! :D Glad #2 is going over well, I know white leggings/hose aren't everyone's cup-o-tea. You all have reignited my desire to find that perfect pair of red jeans!

Taylor - Thank you!! I do need to learn more ways of putting my hair up since I wear it up 2/3 of the time. At least I can now do the half-up+slight pouf, the slicked pony, and the pony+bang pouf instead of just pony ;) Any suggestions for something new to try?

Carole - No worries, I wore lots and lots of sunscreen (applied 2x in 3 hours); I'm far too fair-skinned not to ^^

Anna - I am definitely trying to push myself stylistically, happy you can see it :D After feeling frustrated for a couple weeks I'm starting to get a good sense of where the limitations I'm feeling are in my wardrobe. Moving to trendier looks, I think. Now I just need to do more shopping!

Heather - I almost didn't get them back then, they were like 1.5 sizes too small. Glad I kept them and stuck to my healthying-up plans so they fit now! I do wish they had a higher rise though, even normal low-rise instead of uber-low-rise would be great; if they did I wouldn't have to keep looking :( I've got a couple other outfits with them that I still need to post!

  • Carole replied 12 years ago

Aida-don't mean to preach about the sunscreen, but we had a boat back in my 30's and it would feel so good to be out in the sun, we'd be out waterskiing and enjoying the few warm and hot days on the water. Didn't wear enough sunscreen, and my arms and legs prove it.

What a great week, you look soooo stylish every day!!

  • Lisa replied 12 years ago

A super week. #1-I always enjoy blue and brown paired together. The bit of color peeking out from the jeans is so fun! #2-LOVE this outfit except for the hose, I think a sheer fishnet would be a lovely choice jacket on or off, the white is quite heavy in this outfit. #3-Super red jeans! #4-Cute printed T, this is my favorite outfit of the group, probably because I'd wear this exactly as is myself. #5-You and hubby are too cute. Stripes and red are the perfect combination for boating.

  • Erin replied 12 years ago

    Love it all!
#1 the red toes peeking out, perfect
#2 love the look but the white tights are not my thing
#3 man those jeans look amazing
    #4 every pic is perfect
#5 jealous of your day, did you plan on your shorts being the exact colour of the boat floor? (your hubbie is cuuute...is that wrong to say?)

  • MsMary replied 12 years ago

Holy guacamole, is there no end to your cuteness and chic? I'm definitely gonna have to copy the red jeans + chambray shirt + snakeskin shoes! Love that! And OMG the boating photos are just amazing!!! Love the (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) "scenery!"

  • Scarlet replied 12 years ago

Those red jeans paired with the chambray shirt are awesome on you! I also really love the look in 4. I don't know you at all, but somehow it seems to be really you. That jacket and those boots are so great together. Love 5--so sweet!

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

    Thanks ladies :D

Erin - Sounds fine to me, I also think he is quite cute :) I didn't plan the shorts to match, and actually didn't even notice until you pointed it out, hehe!

Mary - I feel like you and Bella did a chambray+red jeans look, right? If so, that's what I was thinking when I put that one together; if not, that's still what I was thinking when I put that one together ;) Also, *giggle*

  • MsMary replied 12 years ago

Yes, we did! I copied Bella's red-skirt-chambray-shirt and turned it into red-jeans-chambray-shirt, and then she copied it back with red jeans! Gotta love it!

  • san replied 12 years ago

Very nice, everyday. I always enjoy seeing the outfits you put together. You have a really great style. You definately should find that perfect pair of red jeans with the more comfortable rise because they look spectacular on you!! Be prepared to have people looking at you when you walk down the street in those babies. Electric blue sounds fab too.
You and hubby are such a cute couple.

  • catgirl replied 12 years ago

The red jeans! Looking at that outfit makes me want to do a happy dance! All of these are fun and fab. #2 with the skirty-skirt is a nice new look for you!

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

    Thanks ladies :D

Mary - Thought so! Then that was my apparently-it-was-floating-around-in-my-head copycat version ^^

San - Thank you! I've been thinking, maybe I should look for a wide-leg red pair since I can still technically wear these 0:)

Una - Skirts are confusing; I like them but don't know what to look for when shopping, then when I actually bring one home don't have stuff to pair with it. It's one of my ongoing challenges ><

  • Ornella replied 12 years ago

1 - so you. Basics that are paired together cleverly and beautifully that the outfit just screams *style*.
2 - love the matching belt and boots, the belt sits really nicely. The pendant looks gorgeous and if I'm right this skirt featured in your Adele outfit, which makes it extra fab in my eyes.
3 - awesome color and the collage is fantastic from all that redness.
4 - casual cool, you rock this look. The accessorizing here is fantastic.
5 - go on, admit it - you *have* matched the outfit with the boat ;) You two are so adorable.

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

Thank you Ornela! You're right about the skirt in #2, that was part of my Adele outfit :) I was pleasantly surprised with the belt on this one, as it's somewhere between my hips and waist but still seems to work. And I swear that I didn't plan my matching the boat! In fact, I want to wear my blue swimsuit and olive shorts next time because I think that may be a little TOO matchy for me hehe!
