WIW 05.06,07 [sorta springy casual weekend]

Some casual outfits for warmish dry (!) weather this past weekend. Nothing fancy here, pretty much how I dress on most weekends unless I need something smarter: sweater/flannel+jeans+booties for cold weather, tank/tee+shorts+flats/sneaks if it's hot, and something in between for in between. I don't particularly enjoy uniform dressing but have learned to do it for casual weekend wear since that's what works best!

#1 Saturday - Orange/navy striped tee with BF jeans for yard work. While working wore a straw cowboy hat, chambray sneaks, and purple gardening gloves. Tucked the side, swapped to gold loafers and added big gold hoops for quick lunch/home improvement store run (should've also popped on a belt!) then back to more yard work.

#2 Sunday - White and blush linen tee with BIG cuffed jeans, ivory rock earrings, and delicate silver necklaces. Had planned to hit the driving range but instead ran some errands so I opted for these little yellow flats over of the sneakers I'd been planning on. Later went for a walk with my sis and her pup.

And of course, also plenty of lounging around both days ;) Comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome.

Rockabilly fab is the first thing that came to mind. And I love your yellow flats!

Weekend dressing at its best! I love the jeans in 2. Did you make the big cuff? Both the gold loafers and yellow flats need to be in my closet.

You look so nice for yard work! After my meeting snafu, I changed to shorts, tee, shortie socks and crocs for yardwork today (plus big hat, gloves and my pruners). Whenever I'm dressed crummy at the home improvement store, that's when I run into someone I know!!

Both excellent weekend looks....I love the fit of the jeans in both instances.

They both do have a little 1950s look with the hair, the flat shoes and the jeans.  Modern retro though with your choice of top definitely.

I won't share my yard work pictures:)

FABULOUS FLATS STYLE. Super cute, fun, colourful and on trend as always, Aida.

You couldn't have looked more stylish working in your garden! My word.

Glad that all is good your end. Miss you on YLF. Nice to see you post again.

    Thanks for the comments, ladies!

Jaime and Sal, the rockabilly reference makes me happy :D

Joy, I cuffed the jeans myself. I usually wear them full length but they contrast really nicely when folded up. Also enjoy cuffing my white pair though it's a bit less dramatic.

Angie, I think I have more flats than heels in my closet now! They are definitely more practical for weekends especially. More <3 to you <3<3

HIGH FIVE, my Second Little Style Sis. No more heels for me - gave them all away this year. Up to 1.5 inches is tops for me, and I'm loving it.

Wow Angie! That's a big move, I know how tough it can be to find those comfortable-enough heels and I also know that I personally find those shoes so hard to let go of. My collection of pumps is definitely dwindling. My goal is to top out at 2", though do have a couple beloved 2.5/3" heels which have now become sitting shoes. What I really need to do is replace the ones I'm not wearing with dressy flat equivalents!

I love both your weekend outfits but the yellow flats are outrageously wonderful.  You have an amazing style.

  • Angie replied 5 years ago

BIG move. These are my new warm weather shoes and they are ALL workhorses - do you see a pattern?

  • Aida replied 5 years ago

    Thank you, Elle!

Angie, GREAT looking collection! I see lots of easy walking, high vamps and daintiness all around. Light and bright too, of course ^^ Been eyeing the white loafers myself, may ask Davy for them for my birthday.

I like both looks. Those hoops are super cute too.

Everything looks both fun and comfy - a favorite combo of mine. I Love the red stripes, in particular!

    Thank you Delurked and Christina!

JAileen, could've sworn I wrote a reply to you but it appears to be missing! YES it never fails, does it?
