Still catching up :) Later part of last week and weekend outfits.

  1. Wed, worn to work. Gave my vintage 70s midi skirt a go since it's still cold. I kind of dislike the dark tights with this, wish I had the nude microfishnets instead (got them a couple days later).
  2. Thu, worn to work. I rarely wear these heels because they're too large and are cheaply made, but I do love the styling. Did a few things I don't often do: stacked bangles, bright shoes, silk scarf tied like a men's tie, socks+skinnies+heels.
  3. Fri, worn to work and dinner with my folks. Enjoyed pairing the red with the orange nails, did the same pairing in the next outfit too! This is my favorite nail color of all time, "Cantelope" by Essie; it's a peachy-orangey-coral :D
  4. Sat, worn out for sushi. Spent the (gloriously sunny) weekend gardening. Had to get dressed to get sushi, and was still feeling the garden influence :)

    LOVE #2 and #3 - KILLER.

    #4 very sweet!

I like the black tights in #1 actually. They bookend your hair. Try tucking the shirt into the midi. I see great potential :)

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

Thanks Angie! I'll try the midi with a tucked top next week if we get a cool day (who am I kidding, _when_ we get a cool day...). The tights looked off to me with the white accessories on top and the black on bottom, but since they blended with the shoes and bookend my hair I went with it. Glad to know it works :)

I like your relaxed take on the midi in #1. I am always really buttoned up in mine, and this shows me a whole new world. Aaaaand, you probably know I love the muffler-tied scarf in 3 with your nails. Close colors, muffler, bright accents... check, check, and check! :]

So cute, Aida! I LOVE the stripes with the turquoise--it's divine! And wow, those heels! So fun! You look great with the bandit style scarf--edgy and cool. Great spring outfit. My fave is casual sushi day. Love the simple tee and jeans. You rock that look like nobody else! The midi looks great with those sandals and hose. Cute white hoops too--I need a pair!

Lovely as always!! Love your nail polish!

You are so cool doing the socks with sandals thing, not something I do, but you make it work! Your scarfs are awesome, those looks are my fav. I look forward to seeing the midi with a tucked in shirt!

I like the skirt in #1 but I see a more fitted feminine top with it, tucked in. This look is all about the waist.

I love #2 and #3, very fun and trendy. You get a gold star for perfect scarf styling in these!

#4 is near and dear to my heart, this is usually how I dress, comfortable and casual. A leather or good quality pleather jacket like that, in a neutral tone, is on my list. Details?

Thank you for the comments ladies!

Rae - I think maybe because your midi is a pencil skirt? I can see you in a flowy midi like this one :)

Kelly - I'm on the hunt for fun light/bright colored earrings either to buy or make, this is my only pair! Hoops look great on everyone, and white is especially fun though sometimes hard to find. I think they'd work really well with your outfits :D

Rute - Thank you! Spring and summer are perfect for fun polishes! Orange, coral, turquoise, mint, silver...

Amy - I'm a big fan of the socks+sandals look, planning to try it out more since we still have cool weather. I'd love to see your take if you try it!

Denise - I got this jacket at Target last fall; it's pleather which makes me feel less guilty for wearing it in the rain all the time :) In leather I've got a black CK jacket, and a khaki Eddie Bauer jacket that I'm working the guts up to dye after seeing Rae's great successes. I bet a gray or charcoal jacket would work really well for you!

Aida, you definitely took good notes from Mary's link to the scarf tutorial.

I would have never thought to untuck the blouse with the midi....very cool. I love that white belt...maybe it is a good thing we don't live in close proximity....a white belt might be missing from your closet. ;D

And oooo....those heels in pic 2! WIth the scarf and the red bag (I so love turquoise and red) and the socks and everything....supa dupa.

Aida, you totally rock the polka dot scarf tied cowboy style.

I will admit that I was hoping to see the "draped piece." LOL....cue little Aida being sucked up in her mall's escalator *gasp*. (everyday actions turned dramatic....)

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

Hah, Heather I don't think I can don the "draped piece", I can also see it getting stuck in someone's car door as they drive away and the brooch is on so securely it tears off the jersey dress I'm wearing and of course that causes me to stumble and my stilettos snap.... *shakes head*

(Also, thank you! I'm thinking I need more white belts, I reach for this one a lot these days. And I do feel a little silly because I think I'm the only one who didn't think to tuck into the midi, though I like it both ways ^^)

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

I love 2 and 3! Also love the midi skirt in 1 and I'm totally on Team Untucked (though I'll bet you could rock a tucked top too!).

  • RandomThoughts (Andrea) replied 12 years ago

Wow, Aida, I love all of them. Definitely going with the herd that 2 & 3 are the standouts but all 4 are pretty awesome. LOVE the jacket in #2. Me want!

  • Joy replied 12 years ago

You look great in all these fab outfits. I especially like the patterned scarf with striped top in #2 and I covet those grey jeans in #3. Details on the jeans?

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

    Thanks Jonesy, Andrea, and Joy!

Jonesy, I like it untucked too though we seem to be in the minority :)

Andrea, I picked up the jacket recently from H&M and it may still be available? Bit of a drive down to Seattle though ;)

Joy, the gray jeans are "Mossimo Premium" from Target and I think fit #6. I don't see any on their site right now though. I got these on clearance in Feb.

  • RandomThoughts (Andrea) replied 12 years ago

Luckily my biz is w/in walking distance of H&M! I'll check it out. Thanks!!

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

Hey perfect! The jacket also came in a couple other blush colors, a light pink and a mocha-y color. Hope you find it :)

  • Aunty replied 12 years ago

Lovely outfits, but 2 & 3 stole my heart!!

  • Sally replied 12 years ago

Love all of them but my favourite is number two....very chic.

  • Lisa replied 12 years ago

#1-That skirt is lovely on you, the length is perfect. Looks so fun to swoosh around.
#2-The shoes are fun and really pick up the scarf well. I like how the scarf is tied here a lot.
#3-I also like how the scarf here is tied and you can't beat that coral polish, gorgeous on you!
#4-Hey, this top looks like it matches the nail polish, so fun!

  • Queen Mum replied 12 years ago

Love 1 and 2! Those are my favorites!

  • Lynne replied 12 years ago

Aida, I love you in the corals and reds - lovely!

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

    Thank you ladies! :D

Lisa, the scarf in #2 is wrapped around once then was supposed to be tied like a men's tie (half Windsor knot) but I manged to do it backwards so the flat part was against my chest. I rather liked how it looked so I left it 0:)
