WIW 04.14, 15

End of the week outfits, both worn to work. Had to shake it up since the first part of the week was all the same silhouette, though these have a lot of similarities too. Hmmm....

  1. Wanted to try a fairly voluminous outfit with the new walk shorts, I think it turned out pretty well. (Did any of you guess these boots? I'm glad they ended up with good votes :) ) It was super windy yesterday morning, and I couldn't resist including the far left photo because the wind was so perfect it almost looked staged, hehe! Things I learned: unlined shorts+tights works just as poorly as unlined skirt+tights (see bottom right motion photo, included to remind myself of this).
  2. Felt like a simple outfit today; I have a TON of work to finish -_- These jeans have gotten too large and I've only been able to wear twice (darn rain, shoo!); will have to get them altered at the waist soon.

I enjoyed including a couple motion shots of this week, they help me remember how an outfit moved. Plus they're fun :)

You are ready for the runway, Aida! Stellar outfits! Love them both. You and Heather should be models!

You look so sophisticated in #1. I wasn't crazy about the brown boot/walk short combo but you totally nailed this look. I like the casual combo of the military jacket and loose jeans too.

Aida, I only saw your first thread a short while ago and am still recovering from every single outfit there... then you hit me with this :) Fab no.2.

And I looooove the "Aida on the go" additions to your collages ;)

    Thanks ladies!

Kelly - Teehee! That's very sweet of you to say but I'm way too klutzy to be a model of anything. I promise you in person I'm much more giggly and limb flaily than I try to look in my photos :)

Go, girl! Aida, you seriously are on track with your new style! I love that olive cascading cardi with the shorts and I never thought I would like the tall boots, but I am OBSESSED. Fantastic!!!!

Also, I am in love with those jeans. Have those beauties altered on the double! And that jacket...deets, please?!

Kelly: LOL LOL LOL. I am the most awkward person--EVER. And I take the worst photographs, too. You are toooooo kind, but thank you very, very much. I am completely flattered.

And Aida, you look elegant and full of grace.

love, love, love #1!!!! (hmmm...do they make two-legged 'slips' for wearing under walk shorts?!)

  • Angie replied 13 years ago

Don't those faded flares look SO much better baggy!! *love*

The long shorts outfit with the cardigan in the first collage is KILLER. (very, very, Euro).

Thank you for the comments :D

Heather - Glad you like the tall boots! I was a little worried at first after yesterday's "poll", but I'm happy the styled version is getting positive feedback. The jacket I picked up at Macy's a couple years ago by a brand called Golden State Jean Co. but I think they may no longer be around :\ It's olive denim, one of my favorite jackets! And mwahaha success in looking graceful and elegant (I am neither of those things, but want to LOOK like I am) :D

Sarah - I wondered the same thing! I've never seen anything like that though... Perhaps I need to wear silkier tights.

Angie - Agreed, the light wash flares are great baggier! This is exactly the look I was going for, they immediately give a nice relaxed 70s vibe to any outfit. Just need to get the waist taken in a bit so they stay put. And woo a killer for the shorts outfit! Just the motivation I need to continue trying to style them.

I LOVE this!! It was warm and sunny here today, and I swear your outfits are making me miss the cooler weather! The middle photo in #2 is just SLAYING me with all that sass and 'tude!! Those jeans! That t-shirt! The pendant! The jacket! That face!!

    *plonk*

Love them both, but I'm blown away by #1. I'm wishing I had black bermudas to copy this. FAB!!!

  • MNsara replied 13 years ago

You look great in every single pic and variation! I love the walk short with boots and adore those flared jeans on you! Keep them belted and you can maybe wait on the alterations a while?

  • Jonesy replied 13 years ago

Both outfits are fab! It's great to see the black shorts and brown boots in action!

  • cheryl replied 13 years ago

You know, you make it really hard to pick a favorite. You look super fab and yet so different in style for these two looks. You knock outfits out of the park!
