WIW 03.30-04.01

End of the week outfits, including today. Been under the weather during this group but was happy with what I came up with (which helps a little!). Still sprinkling in new stuff I picked up for spring, though the persistent rain has made it impossible to wear my flares. All worn to work.

  1. New necklace, cardigan. Felt like being gloomy with the weather; glad to have light gray instead of charcoal for spring, this turned out much less gloomy than anticipated.
  2. New cardigan. This is my first flyaway style cardigan (where have I been, right?). It has a small gathered band across the back which gives it some shape. Not gonna lie, this is one of my fave outfits to date.
  3. Don't worry ladies, I didn't really wear this other outfit, though I did keep the leggings on ;) Thought I'd make it up to you all by sporting tomato red+fuchsia color-blocking for the first time AND wear a skirt! New: tank, skirt, scarf, and polish (sparkly silvery-white). Bonus kitty face included.

Comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome.

I like #2 the best as well.

  • Heather replied 8 years ago

Aida, WOW! You consistently impress with every post!

I ADORE your new necklace in #1! And I really like the brown and gray combo.

Outfit 2 is super fab and the flyaway cardi in olive suits you perfectly.

The skirt, leggings and ballet flats are so unexpected from you and I REALLY LOVE it!!!

    Way to go, Lady!

p.s. Who is peeking out the door? Pretty Kitty!

Squee!! We are gray/brown/black floral scarf twins!!

LOVE all of this! You get more beautiful and polished with each passing day! I LOVE the new necklace in #1 -- and the brown boots with the gray outfit are to die for! Love the olive/stripe semi-tuck semi-twins outfit from yesterday, of course! And the red/fuschia skirt/leggings is OMG OMG OMG.

I am loving your new style direction! All of these are cute, but 2 is super-duber fab! I love how fitted the cardigan is through the shoulders and upper body, and pairing it with the striped top and black pants/heels just looks perfect.

No.2 - I think I've died and went to style heaven!

  • kellygirl replied 8 years ago

Woohoo! You go, Aida! You are just so gosh darn fab. I love all of this new style stuff--it's so inspiring. I love every one of these--especially 2! That new cardigan is divine on you. I love the pairing of the olive and the stripes against the bad, bold, black pants. Fuschia and red in the last set is gorgeous and so striking! The simple stripes in 1 with the killer boots is quite amazing too! Wow!

Thank you ladies, you really know how to brighten a gray day! Glad the red+fuchsia look is going over well :D I like the look of leggings (done right, of course) but have few things I can wear with them, hence their rare appearance. Will try to sport them more often!

Heather - That's my kitty, creatively named Kitty. He was sulking because I wouldn't let him outside with me, even though I tried to tell him it was POURING and he'd just hate it. To be fair, last time I did that he came out anyway just to spite me, got soaked, ate lots of plants, and then puked them up all over the carpet once back inside. Showed me ;)

Mary - Woo! One step closer to acquiring your wardrobe, mwahahha!

Jonesy - That's what made this cardigan appealing to me too! They usually have way too much volume, but this one manages to have a fitted look.

I'm stealing that olive draped cardigan and cute skirt with fab pockets!

    #2 and #3 are great!

#3 wasn't a joke, right? 'Cause I think it's very flattering on you.

  • chouette22 replied 8 years ago

Another great series of outfits - love every one of them!

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

    Thanks AJ, Denise, and chouette22!

Denise - This was the real outfit :) You can see my joke outfit here: http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/wiw-0401

Wow, Aida. #2 is killing me! I absolutely love it. I just LOVE it. Oh, did I mention that I love it? And #3 is so much fun.

But all of these are kind of a let down after your earlier outfit post, which puts these to shame.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Sarah I can't decide whether to click "Boost" or "Comedy" :)
    (Also, thank you!)

  • bella replied 8 years ago

I have a very similar olive cascading cardi, so I think I am going to steal this outfit idea.

  • dakota replied 8 years ago

I am soooo blown away, Aida!!!! I always love your outfits (I even have a folder for you-blushing) but this group is so lively....like a puff of happy. I'm so in love with #2 and let me tell you, that fly away was made with you in mind. What can I say about #3 that others haven't said.....fab-u-lous!!!

  • rae replied 8 years ago

My goodness, that olive cardi looks great on you! As does the red/fuchsia combo. YOU have brightened up the gray days. :)

  • Scarlet replied 8 years ago

    Really like 2 AND 3.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Thank you for the lovely comments ladies!

(Angie, did you see this? The red+fuchsia was way out of my comfort zone, but I think I'm sold on the combo and am looking forward to trying it again :D )

  • foodfashionandflow replied 8 years ago

I love 2 and 3. The Cardigan is so gorgeous on you. The red and fuschia is so unexpected but looks FAB! I love your statement necklace in the first photo. Love your style!

  • amyreh replied 8 years ago

Let's hope it hits 60 and we get a little sun this weekend. My favorite is #2 but you look gorgeous in all : )

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

Only getting to the post now! You look fabulous, Aida! Love you in olive. #2 is KILLER, and Rosie is especially impressed with your red and fuchsia combination :)

  • nicoleb replied 8 years ago

    Love #2!

  • Anh replied 8 years ago

The 2nd outfit is my favorite too! Love the nail polish color.

  • Aida replied 8 years ago

Thanks for the comments! #2 seems to have jumped out as the favorite of this set (yay, it was mine as well!). Looking forward to wearing this cardi more, it's a light enough material I could probably wear it up until it's 70F if I wanted :D

Angie - This is the only fuchsia piece I own, and I probably should wear it more. I will admit I was nervous about pairing it with the red but I ended up really liking it. I hope your hand injury is improved, just wanted thank you for making me step out of my comfort zone :D

  • Angie replied 8 years ago

You look beautiful in fuchsia, Aida. I'm glad you enjoyed stepping out of your comfort zone thanks to our little Rosie.

  • Marley replied 8 years ago

Oh wow Aida - it is so great to watch you put your style musings into actual outfits! These are all so polished - (in a GOOD kind of way!) I'm especially in love with the fuschia and red outfit - so cheery! Also, your 2nd outfit is making me reconsider a cascading cardi - I don't own any because they always feel like waaaaay too much material for me, but maybe I just haven't found the right one! Also, the mix of gray and brown in #1 is giving me ideas for an outfit of my own. Thanks for posting!
