WIW 03.28-31

A few outfits from the end of last week and this past weekend. We've been having some tumultuous weather, sunny one day, torrential rain the next. Ahh, spring in the PNW.

  1. Wednesday, worn to work. A variation on my taupe shorts+tall boots outfit from last week, but this time the color is from the jacket instead of the scarf. This is a new scarf with a fun bird print (you can find it here in black, navy, and this here taupe!). It was warm enough to wear textured hose instead of sweater tights, yay!
  2. Thursday, worn to work. Pouring, POURING rain this day hence the goofy left pose because there was just no way I could get more than a couple shots. This outfit was inspired by Joy's cute graphic tee outfit!
  3. Friday, worn to work and out for date night dinner. Wanted to give this cashmere sweater one last spin before putting it away for the season. The buttoned up collar felt very cheeky :) I really like how the purple looks with my fuchsia/orange nails.
  4. Saturday, worn to breakfast, a couple home improvement stores, lunch, and gardening (yep). I'm sure you gals will find that story amusing: someone ran into our mailbox and we had to buy a new one, so we also bought some pretty flowers for the yard. When we got home I told David that I wanted to take my outfit photos and then change before planting, and he gave me the "I'll be done with this by the time you're done" look. So I planted flowers for an hour in my trench and 3" heels (took the scarf and purse off, at least). You can see a few of the flowers behind me in the photos ^^

Really love them all and the fun nails!!

  • Jewell replied 11 years ago

Lots to love! Super cool tights, fun nail art, stripes, and fab scarves. I so need a white jacket like that one- adding to my shopping list right now.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

What a story! And your pretty plants go with the red bag....

    Love #1 especially!

    Great gardening outfit ; )

Seriously, I really like all of your neutrals + splashes of color outfits. You look terrific. Oops, little one is crying, gotta go...

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

You planted in those heels? Goodness. Anyway, all your outfits are great, but I especially love the purple sweater with white shirt.

  • kellygirl replied 11 years ago

You always look so sassy! Great outfits all the way around! I especially love 3 and 4. The grey and purple combination looks so fresh to my eye and I love the buttoned up collar. 4 is a look that I could see myself in so I like that one too : ) You have really honed your style, Aida. Each one of these is so *you!*

The outfits are great and I LOVE the nails!!

  • ManidipaM replied 11 years ago

Wow! You're very cool and very adept to garden in *that*!

My favourite is #1, though --- love how the shape of the bird motif seems echoed by the tights...

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

Your outfits are all so cool and I'm thrilled that my outfit could inspire a beautiful young woman. I want to steal your trench! You look fantastic.

  • christy replied 11 years ago

Oh boy - I ADORE that bird print scarf! Hmmm...wonder if I "need" it in the navy?

All of these are great Aida. You wear shorts with tights like nobody else! I think I like #1 and #4 the best. And I love the fact that you gardened in #4! :)

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

Such FAB outfits! Your nails are super cool too! I like how the garden challenge was met so fashionably! : P

  • Kirti replied 11 years ago

I love #1 and #2! I also love your nails in #3 and your red bag in #4 :)

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

All are magnificent, and very "Aida." #2 is a fav, partly because it's a look I love but that won't work for me (I'm enjoying it vicariously). #3 is an excellent version of a hip preppy look. Gotta love purple!

  • Lisa replied 11 years ago

#1-Love how the bird scarf matches those light boots, what a find! And this color is lovely on you. You really rock the shorts and tights look.
#2-Looking great for a rainy day. I like that you wore a white blazer to cheer up a rainy day. I purposefully buy the brightest umbrellas I can find for the same reason. The clouds are enough black on rainy days for me.
#3-Purple and orange is a great combination. I hope you got the orange slouchy trousers from another of your posts because those paired with that purple sweater would be a super outfit!
#4-I'd love to see the brown stripe top with the bird print scarf sometime for a fun outfit remix.

You glamorous gardener, you!! You should see some of the get-ups I wear when I garden :).

Anyway, I always love your shorts looks, and I also love the cheeky white button down outfit and the striped gardening sweater look. It's so nice to see you post your WIWs again!

Your style just slays me Aida! I love every one of these outfits. You really know how to combine great elements to make a fab outfit - there'a always an interesting mix of colours, textures, pattern and shapes. Fabulous! And I adore the orange handbag and your nail - such fun!

  • Sona replied 11 years ago

love all of course. but really drawn to 3 where you did light bottoms with a purple topper. very way cool and fashion forward.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Thank you all for the wonderful comments, and for the kind words about my manicure :D

Jewell, I support your decision to add a white jacket to your shopping list! They're surprisingly easy to wear, just be sure to pick a shade that works with your coloring.

Kelly, I think that gray+purple was big a couple years ago but I didn't wear it back then so I'm getting my fill in now! I actually don't wear a lot of purple, though it's a good color for me. Hmmm maybe a purple blazer is in order?

Manidipa, ooh good eye! I didn't realize that the pattern in the tights was bird-like, I just picked it because I felt it was "going best" and I guess that's why :)

Lisa, I love the idea of wearing the purple sweater with the orange pants! If I end up being able to keep them I will definitely give that a try. I will also be sure to wear the brown striped sweater with the bird scarf soon (we still have plenty of cold weather).

Love your looks and the story. When I garden it's my old not so well fitting cargo pants with paint on them, some tshirt of sorts, floppy hat and and knee high rubber boots. I don't know why the neighbors stare??

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

All great outfits! do you do your nails or are these salon?

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

    Thanks JJ and Mona!

JJ, your gardening outfit sounds a lot more like what I usually wear hehe! Black Dockers work pants, random tee, hiking sandals, bright purple gardening gloves.

Mona, thank you! I do my nails myself, lately every 4 days or so, though I do like to pop by the salon every couple months. This was my first attempt at taping, with medium success but I definitely learned how to do it better for next time!

  • RandomThoughts (Andrea) replied 11 years ago

It's really hard to pick a favorite! Love them all! The scarf and shorts in #1, the cargoes and boots in #2, the shoes in 3 and well, everything about 4....

A Saturday morning at the Totem and then Pacific Stone (my fave "home improvement" store) sounds like a great one indeed. Though I know you didn't go to the latter, at least not for flowers. :D

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Thanks Andrea! OT, but what do you think of the Totem since the management change? Their coffee and pancakes don't seem as good as before :( I haven't been to PS yet, we usually go to a rockery out in Snohomish (I forget the name, the big one on Hwy 9). I'll have to check Pacific Stone out!

  • Sarah A replied 11 years ago

all so good! I don't think I can choose a fav of 1,3 or 4 and I really like the fun nails! Your posts I always find inspirational, I think this is because of how you add a bolt of color to your neutral pieces. And of course the great collage presentations!

  • Ana replied 11 years ago

Love these, Aida! Outfits 1 and 2 are favorites, just because I love you in teal and the pants in the second one are amazing! But they're all great. Also LOVE your nails. What a stylish week you had!

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

Looking great in every one of the outfits. Your upscale casual spin is one of my favorites - little details that make the looks special - the scarf, heel, bag, well chose jacket.

There is a book called Running in Heels but I have never heard of Gardening in Heels! Could be your specialty :)

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Thank you Sarah, Ana, and Christieanne!

Christieanne, "upscale casual" is just what I hope my style projects :)

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Gotta run Aida but just wanted to say hi and I love your outfits especially the gardening in 3" heels outfit!

  • morethanbeige replied 11 years ago

Love these. You have such a sense of style. I love the outfit with the Miz Mooz. You are so rocking those. Awesome nails!

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

Thanks Denise (*waves*) and MTB! :D
