WIW 02.12-16 (with Asos pearl pendant a la Inge)

Sorry for the mob of photos, but I wanted to post today's outfit (#5) for Inge and I was a tad behind :) Inge posted a lovely WIW with a giant pearl pendant which she kindly linked, and I scooped it up right away. It arrived in the mail this morning and I couldn't wait to wear it, so I did! Thank you Inge, I really love the pendant!

  1. Worn to run errands with my husband, super casual like.
  2. Worn to the Aquarium, our Valentine's tradition. We had brunch at Maximilien (delicious!), wandered around Pike Place Market, hit the Aquarium, and rounded off our Seattle time with a stop at World Spice to refill our pepper collection; finished the day off with a great meal at home. I had him take my outfit photo in front of the gum wall :) Also holding a new bag my folks gave me for Valentine's. Finally, I have a bright red bag and I love it!
  3. Worn to work. Olive tunic from the YLF swap last month. Requires a lot of gut sucking :)
  4. Worn to work. Felt like taking a day off, so I threw this on. Turned out OK.
  5. Worn to work. Showcasing the new Asos pendant! Also a new turtleneck; been looking for this color for 2 years now and finally found one. What is this green called? I never see it.

I really like number 4 and 5, especially the accessories. Great style!

  • annagybe replied 13 years ago

    I like #3, #4 and #5.
In #4 is that the grey moto that we had a big debate about earlier? I'm liking it more now.

  • kellygirl replied 13 years ago

5 is killer! Gorgeous, head to toe! The pendant is the perfect accessory. I think that color is called mallard but will defer to anyone more color savvy. Second faves are 3 and 4. I love them both, equally. I wish all of my thrown together looks looked this good! 3 is just fab and worth the ab workout! 1 and 2 are classic, casual Aida. Love the Valentine's Day pic with hubby! So cute! Keep mobbing us with pics, please!

ETA: Glad you kept that moto--it's just perfect on you!

  • Angie replied 13 years ago

First of all, I adore your Valentine's Day tradition. Sounds like a magical day! Greg took his little furry Valentines for a walk - and his blonde Valentine joined the trio.

Yay! We all need a red bag. I'm glad you love yours.

Speaking of love, that's what I feel for outfits #3 and #5. Both KILLER. Divine, divine, divine!

  • Lisa replied 13 years ago

I am loving that red bag of yours, and extra sweet to get it on Valentine's day. Someone must tell my hubby of this. :) I am also really liking that pearl pendant of yours, so fun!

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Thanks ladies! Glad #4 is going over okay, I need to come up with a few extra outfit ideas to keep in my closet for those days when I don't want to think.

Carrie - Thanks very much, I've been really trying to improve my accessory collection!

Anna - The moto in #4 is indeed the one we had the big debate about, glad I kept it. Even though I thought I'd never wear it zipped up. Plus the sweatshirt material is super cozy.

Kelly - Mallard, like the head of a duck, cute! My "thrown together" looks have certainly been improving. Hooray for having flattering items in one's wardrobe! I need to spend an hour playing with the moto, still not totally sure how to incorporate it.

Angie - Thank you! And two Killers, how exciting :D I think I'll probably keep wearing #5 even when the 70s trend fades. I love going to the Aquarium, though my husband jokes that I spend more time with the fish than with him (I love taking photos of pretty fish!). Did your little furry Valentine's wear red for their walk?

Lisa - I loved that I could wear a little bit of red without wearing red clothes. After getting this pendant I feel like I need a gumball pearl necklace...

Aida love #3 & #5. Love, love the jacket and boots in #3. Gorgeous pearl pendant and trench coat outfit in #5. I also love your hair in #3, I like the softness.

  • Lori replied 13 years ago

I love the pretty neutrals in #3 especially with the red bag, just great!

Also, I must thank you and Inge for the info on the pearl pendant, I just ordered one along with a beautiful light brown leather belt.

  • celia replied 13 years ago

I'm in love with #3 and #5, I can identify myself so much with both of them that I'm wondering why isn't there a black trench in my wardrobe.

  • Aunty replied 13 years ago

    5 is beyond gorgeous!!!

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

    Thanks ladies!

An - Glad you like the side-pony! It's a little soft for me to wear all the time, but it makes a cute change.

Lori - Hope you'll post photos when you get the pendant and belt :)

Celia - I know you commented recently about not liking having a lot of black near your face, maybe a colorful trench like the pink one MaryK just got? Or a dark chocolate brown? Either way I can definitely see you in a fun trench!

Aunty - Thanks very much! I'm enjoying the 70s vibe this season.

  • Louise replied 13 years ago

I know I've said this before but you really do rock those casual looks. You pop on jeans and a top and look fab I'd need to spend ages faffing (messing) with accessories! x

  • Inge replied 13 years ago

Yay, the pendant has arrived!! And I love it! (surprise, surprise;-)
Thank you for posting pics with it, Aida!! (I too love that shade of green and the creamy pearl contrasts so beautiful against it. Outfit 5 is just perfect, and what a gorgeous trench coat!).

My other favourite is outfit 3, you look fantastic in that long top and the brown jacket, beautiful! Fab red bag as well, that's going to be such a versatile piece.

Thank you for including pics of your Valentine's Day too (lovely photo of you and your husband), sounds like such a fun day!

Thanks again for indulging me, pearl pendant twin!

  • Lynne replied 13 years ago

Love your new red bag! Were you involved in the choice? It's lovely! I know I've asked this before, Aida, but I seem to have missed the answer - what jeans are these in number 5? They seem to have a perfect hip to hem proportion to my eye....nice to see your DH, too - you look good together!

  • Debbie replied 13 years ago

    Love #5 and the pendant.

  • Heather replied 13 years ago

Aida, I think your Valentine's Day tradition is very special.

You look wonderful, and I adore the new pearl pendant. Inge always finds the best stuff.

  • Ornella replied 13 years ago

Great round Aida. I almost fell of my chair after seeing that pendant, I have missed it Inge's post originally, but have had it bookmarked from Asos for ages - and I have just seen it had gone on sale! So, thank you for the great timing of your post, I think I should no longer delay ordering it myself :)

My favorite outfit is number 3 because of that olive swap-top. It shows off a more defined silhouette of yours, looks great with that jacket and boots. All in all, I think it looks absolutely divine on you.

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Thanks for all the comments everyone, I appreciate it!

Louise - That's how I feel about layering, which you are most excellent at! Takes me forever to get it to look right :)

Inge - Yay! Happy to oblige, pendant twin :) Thank you again for linking it, I know I'll wear it a lot! I don't wear much green other than olive, but if I can find more pieces in this shade I'd certainly wear more.

Lynne - I wasn't really involved with the bag choice, they just asked if I'd prefer red or lavender so I was very happy that it fit my style so well. The jeans are "Gretel" by a brand called "Empyre" (a junior's brand I think), sized up so I get a looser fit. Wearing 4" heels also helps keep that hip-to-hem ratio looking good ;)

    Debbie - Thank you!

hbaber32 - Thanks very much, it's a fun tradition; the Aquarium is so magical!

Ornella - Hope you were able to order the pendant in time, and of course that you will post a photo when you get it :) I don't wear this type of all slim silhouette often, but I'm growing more fond of it and will probably try more outfits like this as we get into Spring.

  • Janet replied 13 years ago

4 & 5 are my faves! Love that jacket in 4 -- I'm a big fan of the moto style.

  • Laura replied 13 years ago

Asos strikes again! That is one fab pendant. I love how simple yet striking it is. Nicely done!

  • Carole replied 13 years ago

All great but Love 3 and 5! That necklace is beautiful!

  • MsMary replied 13 years ago

Love! You know how much I adore a red bag, and yours is fab!! I just ordered the pearl pendant, and it's possible the Asos red leopard scarf may also have found its way into the order...

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Thanks for the comments ladies, you're all just making my day! Mary, I made it a point not to look at anything else on Asos, just ordered the pendant ;) Though I did pick up a polka dot scarf from Modcloth on the same day...

  • MsMary replied 13 years ago

Yay! Polka-dot scarf twins and pearl pendant twins! Squee!!

  • CocoLion replied 13 years ago

Your Valentine's collage put a huge smile on my face! It made me feel so good -- and your pictures are gorgeous.

I like all of your outfits, my favorite being #3 which is really fashion-forward.

Am I the only one who feels that a necklace is missing in #1? Then again my "signature" is always to wear a necklace and if possible, wear 2 or 3!

Your red bag inspired me to get my own. I just purchased a red bag with chain strap on line; it's rather narrow so I'll have to edit my purse contents.

  • Jonesy replied 13 years ago

Great looks, as usual! I am especially fond of 3--lots of personality and visual interest. That olive tunic really suits you--great swap item!

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Coco - Thank you! I had a hard time picking just one fish photo, I took a ton hehe! #1 could use some more visual interest, I usually do wear a necklace with it but was feeling to Fancy Friday-ed out ;) Looking forward to seeing your red bag!

Jonesy - Thanks! I'm trying to incorporate more texture into my outfits, I think this is my next learning stage.
