Early part of the week outfits, tried an outfit to show off the new motoboots better and gave the fall shorts another go. Also playing around with eye liner thickness and color.

  1. Worn to work. New sweater, I sized up for the looser look. Black thin smudgy liner.
  2. Worn to work. Black thick semi-smudgy liner. Not too sure about the tuck here. I have a nice collection of vintage silk scarves like this one, but I don't wear them much any more; maybe with the 70s spring styling I'll start using them more.

I love #1, sweater is perfectly sized and the jacket and booties are to die for! Colors in #2 are perfectly coordinated in this fashion-forward look. The tights & shorts is a fearless look IMO that you can get away with as you are so young and lovely.

You could also try look #2 with these variations: wear w/ boots from #1 (showing a bit more calf). Or, wear with knee high boots and roll the shorts up or try shortening the shorts for more thigh.

The boots in #2 would be cool with skinny jeans!

    I love look #2.

Your booties are killing me SO FAB!!!

I love look #2 - that scarf is a perfect touch! Also, love the other looks - the booties are sooooo cute! And the coat in #2 is wonderful!

    Thanks for the comments!

CocoLion - Thanks for the suggestions! I'll definitely try the shorts with the black booties, and I have a tall pair of brown boots that should work as well. I'll have to think about rolling them up, not sure I quite have the fashion guts for that yet :)

    Kimlee, Taylor - Thank you!

Marley - Glad you like the scarf, I'm never sure whether I'm wearing them in a modern enough way or not which is why I stopped wearing them in the first place.

OMG those booties are divine! You could wear them with your bathrobe and I for one would not notice :). Re the shorts - I'd prefer them with a higher waist and a looser fit - FWIW, given that tucking and I haven't gotten anywhere with each other...

Fun fun fun!! How YOU doin', green skinnies twin? ;)

  • catgirl replied 13 years ago

Wow, those booties - a little girlier than I usually see on you, but still with the rocker-chick vibe! They really up the ante on the outfit!

Lynne - I would love to get a baggier pair of tweed shorts with a higher rise. My behind and back shape (round behind, very curved lower back) plus some apple tummy makes high rises tough for me though.

Mary - Doin' good, green skinnies twin! I bet you could do this look with your cool zipper moto booties :)

Una - Hehe, I think most of my shoes are girly, but they're usually hiding under jeans. Maybe I should show my heels more often! I'm a sucker for what Mary called "Barbie style" heels (I have many), but lately I'm trying to get tougher pieces to better fit the style I'm going for. Glad this cross of girly and tough works! (The tread is getting mixed reviews from those around me, most of my family seems to dislike it, but I love it!)

    LOVE the first outfit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The blouse is gorgeous! I have a very similar pair of booties!

You never disappoint, Aida! I love them both. The dolman in 1 is perfect on you--love this style. It looks great with the skinnies and your killer boots. #2 is so trendy and cute on you. Looks fab with the moto boots. I wish I could pull off a pair of tweed shorts like you!

You've got me tempted to pull out my boots with heels!

(chuckling at 'Barbie shoes')...I saw some brown tweed, high waisted, pleated shorts at my H&M store this week...didn't try them on so am not sure about the fit.

  • LoP replied 13 years ago

Very fab! Love those shorts on you.

Thanks for the comments everyone, I appreciate the feedback.

    Rute - Thanks very much!

Kelly - I'm just getting into this style of looser dolman sweater, I usually stick with pretty fitted ones. It's a fun silhouette, very 80s to me. I'd love to see your heeled boots in some outfits! Maybe for DAW?

Lynne - The nearest H&M to me is about 40 minutes away, but next time in the area I'll pop in. These shorts are made of a dress pant type material with some sheen so they're pretty thin, and I think they don't quite give the same vibe as tweed shorts would.

Legacy of Pearl - Thanks! It's only my 2nd time styling them, glad I'm doing ok with them!
