Outfits to round out last week and this weekend. Had one of those weeks where everything breaks, and is expensive to fix, but at least I felt good about how I was dressed :) [early part of the week outfits]

  1. Worn to see an early preview of Green Hornet with my husband, provided by his work. This is the last pair of my new boots to debut, though I didn't get a very good photo of them. (Today's breakage: car)
  2. Worn to work, the out for a nice dinner date. My sis gave me this dress for xmas, and I really love it! (Today's breakage: furnace)
  3. Bonus weekend outfits, very relaxed; this is my non-pj "gear" wear, but was documented since I saw friends in these outfits. Watched football with friends all weekend, and we also did some beer brewing and watched a movie with them. (This weekend's breakage: Seahawks losing to the Bears, come on!)

YIKES!! Comiserations on so many major breakages! But don't you love how our closets can provide pick-me-ups at times like this? :)
    I'm sure you look terrific.

  • Angie replied 13 years ago

Oh no! Hugs!! How awful. Good luck with fixing those indispensables asap.

Love you in outfit #1 and #2. Such pretty colours ! And I'm all over the polka dot hose! Your scarf and gloves are KILLER.

A gal has got to wear the right gear to a football game. Very cute :)

    Your collages are splendid.

Ouch! Too many breakages! You should be done for a while. ;) You have such a great casual look. Love that scarf and those gloves in outfit 1. Such a great color and very pretty on you!

You got your dress a week in! Way to rock that dress, Aida! Does it have contrast on the sleeves or are you layering? Either way, it looks great. Love the first outfit--the red is fab on you and those heels--oh my! Do you leave your scarf on when you take your coat off? I really like that color pairing.

ETA: Sorry to hear about the breakages! That sounds painful.

    Yikes! That's an expensive week!

Oh those boots and polka dots are too pretty to be hidden under jeans!!

I agree, your collages are fab!

Thanks ladies, I tell ya, I'm so glad it's been warmer than usual out here!

Michelle - It still surprises me how much a good outfit can cheer me up, this week was definitely a testament to why it's a good idea to fill your wardrobe with fab items. Easy pick-me-up!

Angie - Thanks! I am trying to work more red (and turquoise!) into my daily outfits. I debated about posting the football outfits but, 100% documentation is 100% documentation :)

    Bookarella - I sure hope I'm done for a while :)

Kelly - DAW is just as hard as I remember it hehe! The contrast sleeve (and neck) is from a black tee I layered underneath. I didn't leave the scarf on when inside in outfit #1; I'm having issues styling it with an indoor look because it's so big but I'll keep trying.

AJ - Thanks! I wore these boots again yesterday with skinnies to show them off more properly. I'd love to find a pair of tights that are patterned like these socks!

Love these outfits. The turquoise color looks so pretty on you - and those boots? Oh my! So sorry about all of the broken items - at least you don't have to worry about the Seahawks again until next fall! :-)

  • Reneeb replied 13 years ago

You look so pretty in red and I love the scarf and gloves. The dress is fab with that jacket. What detail is on the back of the dress? Sorry about all the breakages. Oh BTW the polka dot hose and boots are pretty.

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

    Thanks ladies!

Marley - I'll be worrying about the Seahawks until they resign Hasselbeck ;)

Reneeb - The back of the dress has 3 cutouts which show as black in that back view since I have a black tee underneath the dress. It's my first item with a cutout back, we'll see how well it behaves when I don't layer under it.

For those interested in the gloves, they're from Target and have a decently warm lining, though the suede is a bit thin:

Aida, I am in LOVE with your polka-dot stockings and new boots and I'm glad to read that you are going to wear more red and turqoise because those colours are incredibly flattering on you. Oh, and I'm sorry to hear you've had such an expensive week, I hope the week is improving for you.

  • Sally replied 13 years ago

Yeah the red and turquoise are really gorgeous on you and great items in those colours. I love all the outfits even the 'gear' ones. Great dress with the boots too.

  • Carole replied 13 years ago

Great outfits-loving #2 with the scarf and gloves to match-mmmm!

  • Lynne replied 13 years ago

Aida, I think you've coined a phrase: 'wardrobe therapy: having great stuff in your closet to wear and help you feel better when things don't go according to plan". or similar :)

  • MsMary replied 13 years ago

Love 'em all, but particularly so in love with #2 that I can't even stand it!! So sorry about the tough week!!

  • LoP replied 13 years ago

Sorry for the breakages at home. You look great in red and turquoise in #1. Love #2.

  • Ornella replied 13 years ago

Love everything you put together, as usual. And I love the spotted socks/hose - those fun items nobody can see, but you know are there and you can smile about them any time.

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Thank you everyone, I appreciate the well wishes and comments! The car is fixed, just waiting on the furnace now. So far, this week has gone much better and I'm excited for the swap on Saturday!

  • jen321 replied 13 years ago

Are you wearing lipgloss in the first collage? I really like it on you if you are! I know you were posting about hair and makeup a lile while ago.

  • glam on the inside replied 13 years ago

I'm adding coloured gloves to my list of essentials for (Aussie) winter - they really make an impact! You look terrific in all these pics.

  • Angie replied 13 years ago

You know I love tomato red worn with turquoise :)

  • Jonesy replied 13 years ago

Late here, but had to chime in: I love the red on you, and the dress and boots look fab! Your car AND your furnace broke in one week? That is too too much :). Hope this week is better.

  • Tricia replied 13 years ago

You look adorable! I LOVE #2 especially. Sorry to hear about all the breakages - hope you get a break (er, no pun intended) soon!

  • Aida replied 13 years ago

Thank you everyone, I really appreciate all the feedback! Got the furnace fixed today (finally, yay!), so I'm feeling much better about getting everything else fixed. One step at a time :)

Ellie - I love fun socks, even though as you said they're usually not seen. But sometimes when you sit, the socks peek out and I enjoy having something fun be there :)

Jen - I am indeed wearing lip gloss in #1, it's a pretty orange gloss by MAC (I've found pinks don't really work for me). I like the color and the shine the gloss gives, but I still rarely wear it because my hair is always getting stuck on my lips; is there a gloss that doesn't do this?

Glam - This is my first pair of colored gloves, and I agree with you about the impact they make! It's a nice way to easily change the overall appearance of outerwear, especially if you only have 2 winter coats like me.

Angie - If it weren't for you and YLF those red and turquoise items would probably be languishing in my closet right now ;)

Jonesy - I'm hoping that there's a lot of red available for spring. YLF has convinced me I need to wear more!

Tricia - Thanks! I always appreciate a good pun :)
