WIW 01.01-04

New year, new camera (for xmas, but still)! I never got around to posting, like, all my December WIWs, but they'll be up on my Weardrobe site later this week (I could do a 'best of' if anyone's interested ;) ).

  1. Worn shopping with a friend to help her find some heels (and a new sweater for me which I'll wear next week). These lovely suede gloves were a gift from my husband.
  2. Worn to work, then out for tacos with friends. Showing off one of my new pairs of boots I bought myself for xmas (and a new scarf which was a gift from my folks)! I definitely need more math inspired shirts.
  3. Worn to work. Inspired by this look but I didn't feel like wearing my navy blazer so I swapped the colors on top. Another gifted pair of gloves, from my MIL. Also new boots (though I wore them a couple times, just hadn't posted a WIW with them yet).

Comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome!

Great outfits, Aida! you really have a knack for making casual tees look stylish. I'm going to have to try and layer them like you. Lovely scarves, fab boots and killer coats too.

Aida, you have a wonderful style! Thank you for posting your outfits. I love how you put the pictures of each together to give us the whole look in one screen.

Congrats on the new camera! I really like all of these, but the first outfit is especially eye-catching on you. Something about the colors and the layering/accessories is just spot-on.

Thanks everyone, nice to read all your lovely comments after waking up with a sore throat. Made my day! Also glad everyone likes the boots, I've been neglecting buying them for so long I had some serious nerves and am glad I finally committed to these (and 2 others which you'll soon see!).

The cowboy boots are from Target (here's a link), are actually leather and are totally worth it for under $40. Very comfy and well made. I snagged the only pair I saw in this lighter brown, most of them are a pretty dark brown.

Kelly - I find that 2 tees looks a bit clumpy, but a cami+tee works really nicely (though both have to be thin).

Angie - Hubby does like the blue! He likes most blues as long as there isn't a touch of green in it and they're not too bright :) I'm going to be doing a closet sweep with mainly my taste in mind later this month, should be interesting.

Joy - I started with photographing only the outfit but found I was neglecting outerwear. Having them side by side helps me evaluate my outfits as well. I've found I like having the outer look be totally different from the inner look, though I'm not sure this is the best idea.

Una - Of the 4 boots I posted, I kept 3 (the gray ones here, the black high heel ones and the tall brown ones). I replaced the one I returned (brown boot with the foldover flap, which confused me) with the cowboy boots above. Pretty successful I think!

Lynne - I'll do a post on how I edit and collage my photos this week or next. I use Photoshop, which I know not everyone has or can get, so I'll look into some other options to suggest before posting.
