  Ok, here they are! Detail photos of my new hair cut: a longer angled bob with lots and lots of messy curly bits. The stylist, who does my sister's hair, did a FABULOUS job and I just love it! I am definitely going to be seeing her again; she did an especially impressive job of interpreting "yay 80s punk rock, nay 90s R&B" ;) It's styled much more fluffy and curly than I do (she used a blow dryer and curling iron, I don't really use either), but it's pretty fun looking this way and I may give it a try for an occasion that calls for it.

  First three were taken at home a few hours after the cut, fourth is with my cell phone taken at the salon just afterwards.

  This "spot the difference" was far to difficult for me so I cheated and read the first comment. I went back to the photos to see if the pants or sweater were shorter. Nope. Then it finally dawned on me...THE HAIR!

  no, no, no...picture 2 was taken 10 years ago, right? ...kidding...lopping off the locks has given you an instant lift!...very pretty!...Yep, your added detail pictures of your cut are beautiful! Your hair looks incredible. It looks healthy and bouncy and and juicy with vitality and totally flatters your face.

  Just looking at the close up pics. She did such an amazing job. Did she straighten it to cut, or cut it curly? In my experience it is sooo hard to find a stylist that works well with curly hair. The one I see now is the first one I've gone to in ages that didn't start off recommending blow dry + round brushing or flat ironing for me. This one is a keeper for sure!

  WOW ladies, thank you!! I'm thrilled you all like the cut so much, this makes my day! Funny story: I ran into one of my close girlfriends yesterday at dinner; we were leaving, they were just getting there, so it was a quick hi-bye. 5 minutes later, she sent me a text saying that she didn't even realize I'd gotten my hair cut until just then because "it looks so right on you" :D I suppose I should've gone back to the bob sooner, eh?

  Ramya, I'm flattered (and will pass the sentiment to the stylist, I'm sure she'll love to hear it)! Hope the cut works just as well for you!

  Astrid, I was feeling the same way the last month or so and I think it was just that the cut needed freshening up; sometimes with longer hair we forget how much even a little refresher can improve the look. I was actually debating between this type of cut or leaving it long but with really dramatic layer heights (shorter on top, long on bottom), and ultimately decided I was ready to go back to short hair since it's been a while. I hope you find something that makes you feel better about your hair soon, it's so pretty!

  Abie, she was a curly girl's dream! After confirming that I wear my hair curly (yay for asking that up front!) she did the process I most prefer: wash, do basic cut while wet, cut in more detailed layers while half-dry, diffuse the rest of the way dry, cut in fine details and shaggy bits and final shaping etc. with the hair DRY, then LASTLY got in there with the product and curling iron. Definitely a keeper!

  There must be something in the air, because I just got my hair chopped too :). Not as dramatic as yours, but quite a bit cut off. My hairdresser takes the same approach you mention, and she always does a great job with my curly hair.
