Keep or Return: emerald Vince Camuto blouse (Angie's pick)

I haven't been able to get this blouse out of my head since Kari posted it, and then of course Angie listed it in a top picks post. It is beautiful, but I do have a couple concerns.

First off, I don't think I can wear this with pants, right? With these jeans the top sits right above the waistband. If not, then the pencil in #2/3 is the only thing in my closet that I can wear it with. While I love how it looks with the skirt, I'm worried this would be too limiting for me; I do have an open wardrobe hole for blouses, but this one was rather pricey and NAS is coming up. It could fill a hole for "actual dressy top" for an actual dressy occasion, but I have none coming up that I know of.

Secondly, the pleating in front is pulling at the bust which I tried to show in the right side of #3. If you zoom in on the Nordie's photo you can see that the pleats are supposed to lie flat. I feel like this takes away from the architectural integrity of the blouse, but sizing up would make the blouse ridiculously large.

Would love to hear your thoughts regarding my two concerns, versatility for the price and whether the pleats pulling is problematic.

Keep, Return, or Alter: black and emerald dotty blouse

My sweet sister bought me this lovely blouse as a late birthday gift, but unfortunately the size is one (or two) too large. It is still returnable, but there are no smaller sizes.

Concerns: Very, very boxy. LOTS of width from the side due primarily to strong swayback, and the straight front hem seems to emphasize this. Also, the fluttery sleeves aren't exactly IT friendly and I'm not sure how I feel about them.

Questions: Should I (and is it possible to) have the waist taken in as in the right of #2? I would have it still be cut a bit loose, just not so straight. Also, should I have the sleeves removed so it's a sleeveless blouse instead? Or should I just have her return it?

WIW 06.21-23

The rest of the outfits from two weeks ago! I know I usually post a full week at a time, but I split this one up so I could include some fun bonus photos :D

#1 - Thursday, worn to work. Well this was the one (yes one) warm day of the week, temps in the mid 70s. I was in the mood to wear shorts, and true to my soft dressing as well as wear-less-jeans direction, I chose these silky shorts over my colorful denim pairs and paired with my new-and-already-beloved printed sweater. Short shorts generally require flat footwear for me, and these loafers have definitely become my go-to flats this season! I almost always wear slouchy tops with these shorts, I think I'm going to try something a bit sleeker next time.

#2 - Friday, worn to work then out for date night. It cooled off 15 degrees from the previous day, so layering was most definitely in order! A few weeks ago I wore this skirt with long black leggings, an artier look than I normally do, and it got such a positive response that I decided to wear it again. This time around I chose cropped leggings and a slouchy turquoise sweater, because the sudden change in weather was making me feel really glum. And this new pendant which jingles softly whenever I move also helped to cheer me up.

#3 - Saturday, worn out for lunch with my sister and hubby. It is rare that I wear the same top two days in a row (really really rare), but I needed a quick outfit and this sweater was on top of the pile ;) Layered over the white tank I was wearing earlier (see below), and hair tossed into a messy bun for a slouchy-sporty vibed outfit.

#4-6 - Also Saturday! My sis came over to do a mini photo shoot of me and her cute doggie Pooka for a homework assignment. The weather was very misbehaved. It was sunny while we came up with our plan for the day, so I put on my white jeans (still undebuted) and a blush silky top.... But by the time we were ready to shoot it started POURING and my jeans got all muddy (boo). I was also scolded for not owning a bright and cheerful trench (I never found my double-breasted cobalt trench this season *sniffle*) nor a bright and cheerful umbrella (she's lucky I even had THIS one!). Anyway, for fun here are some of the photos we took; #4 is the one my sis ended up turning in, and #6 is about how goofy I am most of the time ^^

Comments, critiques, thoughts and questions welcome!
